Valve Changes Bomb Explosion and Prepares Remote Grenades in CS2

Valve has introduced two important changes in Counter-Strike 2 with Season 5. One is already active and the other could arrive soon to competitive matches.

1. The bomb explosion has changed

The bomb's shockwave now works more realistically:

• It no longer goes through walls.
• It bounces off corners and travels through open areas.
• This allows you to use the map geometry to protect yourself.

In addition, the visual effects of the explosion have been improved and an indicator has been added to the health bar that shows exactly how much damage you will take if you stay in that position.

2. Remote detonable grenades (coming soon)

Valve is testing a new mechanic that allows detonating grenades remotely:

• You can "drop" a smoke and then detonate it by shooting it.
• It works with any type of grenade and with damage from any source (including another grenade).
• It is still not confirmed if it will arrive in competitive matches or only in temporary modes.

Other changes in Season 5

• The competitive ranking was reset.
• Cache entered the active map pool instead of Overpass.
• New community maps, skin collections and stickers were added.

These adjustments seek to give more tactical depth to the game and prepare CS2 for the future.
