What's up, gamers? The Clash Royale September patch is officially live. Landing just one day after the start of Season 87 "Minion Academy", this update tweaks 18 cards. As detailed in Supercell's official patch notes and analyzed by Timesaver.gg, the meta is finally starting to stabilize after an intense August full of structural changes. However, we couldn't go without some mid-season adjustments.
It isn't a massive structural reset like the one we got last month, but it touches a couple of spells and Evolutions you probably run into every day. If your main deck survived last month's changes, it will likely still work. Let's break down the real numbers at Level 11 so you know exactly what to expect when you queue up in the arena.
This month's nerfs are aimed directly at tuning down some of the safest plays and most oppressive Evolutions in the current meta.
Evolutions caught some stray nerfs too. The Evo Battle Ram had its knockback reduced from 2.5 to 2 tiles, while the Evo Elite Barbarians lost some of their spear range and Rage duration.
On the brighter side of the patch, we have some solid buffs for cards that have been riding the bench for a while.
Beyond just numbers, a few cards had their core mechanics reworked. The Hero Mega Minion is the biggest winner here: its Crown Tower damage reduction went from 75% to 0%. It now deals full damage to towers and warps back to its origin point, making it an actual offensive threat.
The Hero Wizard had its ability duration cut from 5 to 3.5 seconds, which makes its freeze effect a lot less annoying to deal with. Meanwhile, the Bomber Evolution now bounces more times but deals less base damage. Finally, both the Battle Ram and Golem received a sight range increase, so they will lock onto buildings from further away.
Keep in mind that the big rule from last month’s patch still applies: Hero and Champion abilities are strictly single-use per deployment. If you had your Wizard collecting dust, now is the time to throw him back into your deck and test out those new numbers.
