The Anvil Hill region in Crimson Desert, located east of Hernand, is a critical zone for players looking to enhance Kliff’s abilities through Abyss Artifacts. Often overlooked by those rushing through the main story, this hill conceals three Mysterious Energy puzzles that test your traversal skills and environmental awareness. To clear Anvil Hill 100%, you must find three Abyss Cressets located across steep cliffs, guarded tunnels, and a notorious underground cavern known as the Stoneback Crab Cave.
Mastering these puzzles is not just about the loot; it's about mastering the "Force Palm" mechanics required for advanced exploration. In this technical guide by OLA, we break down every location and the specific escape techniques needed to survive the depths of Pywel.
Before setting out, it is essential to understand the verticality of Anvil Hill. It is not just a surface-level location but a multi-layered environment. The Mysterious Energy spots are distributed as follows:
The first challenge is situated on the highest point southwest of Anvil Hill. While the cliff face looks daunting, you can scale it easily by spotting Bismuth ore nodes, which serve as a visual guide for the climbing route.
At the summit, you will find the Abyss Cresset surrounded by purple grass. Be warned: these purple stalks are highly toxic and will deplete your health instantly upon contact.
The key is to move slowly and identify the clear paths between the grass. Running is your enemy here. If the poison kills you, do not use Palmer Pills to revive on the spot, as the grass will immediately kill you again. Revive at a Checkpoint and re-approach with caution.
This location requires a mix of combat and stealth. The Wild Raiders are hostile enemies that guard a small opening in the cliff wall nearby.
This is the most complex puzzle in the region and a common point of frustration for the community. Located under the impact crater at the map's Mysterious Energy icon, this underground cavern is rich in Bloodstone ore deposits.
| Resource | Location | Usage |
|---|---|---|
| Bloodstone | Cavern Walls | Level 3 Weapon Upgrades |
| Palmer Pill | Alcove to the right | Emergency Healing |
| Treasure Chest | Behind left pillars | Random Loot and Gold |
Deep underground, you will find an Abyss Nexus. Activating it is straightforward, but the real challenge is the environment. Don't forget to grab the hidden chest behind the pillars before attempting your escape, as returning to this cave is a hassle.
Many players get stuck in the Stoneback Crab Cave because they look for a horizontal exit that doesn't exist. The only way out is back through the hole you dropped in.
To escape, stand on the stone pillar near the Bloodstone deposits. Perform a maximum jump and chain the Force Palm skill three times mid-air. The vertical momentum from the Force Palm x3 combo is the only way to reach the surface. Without this specific maneuver, Kliff will remain trapped in the cavern.
Completing Anvil Hill is a major milestone for your early-game build in Crimson Desert. These three Abyss Artifacts will allow you to unlock skill nodes that are vital for surviving more hostile regions like Demeniss or the Pailune Mines.
