Epic Games is officially testing the waters for a Palworld and Fortnite crossover, including the hit creature-catching survival game in its latest player surveys. After months of community speculation, this move suggests the developers are seriously considering bringing Pocketpair's massive hit into the battle royale universe, stepping into the void left by Nintendo's strict refusal to lend the Pokémon license.

The first major hint came directly from Pocketpair. Earlier this year, John "Bucky" Buckley, the global community manager for Palworld, took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask fans a simple question: which Pal would they want to see as a Fortnite skin? While Bucky playfully framed it as a "theoretical" question and explicitly stated it wasn't a promise, the community immediately took notice. Fans flooded the replies suggesting fan-favorites like Depresso, Lamball, and Grizzbolt, highlighting the massive overlap between the two player bases.

Now, the second primary source confirming these rumors comes from Epic Games itself. The developer frequently sends out community surveys to gauge player interest in potential crossover franchises before spending resources on licensing. Historically, when a brand or game appears in these specific surveys, it has a exceptionally high chance of eventually debuting in the Fortnite Item Shop. Palworld recently appeared as an option in one of these official questionnaires, aligning perfectly with Bucky's earlier teases.

Upcoming Fortnite Collaborations

This potential partnership makes perfect sense for the current state of Fortnite. Reliable leakers suggest that upcoming seasons will heavily feature gaming legends. While Fortnite has successfully integrated PlayStation and Xbox icons like Kratos, Aloy, and Master Chief, Nintendo has remained famously protective of its IP. The Japanese gaming giant has previously rejected offers to feature its characters on competing platforms like PlayStation or Xbox, ensuring Nintendo mascots remain exclusive.

With Pokémon effectively off the table for the foreseeable future, Palworld is uniquely positioned to fill that specific monster-catching niche. The game has already amassed tens of millions of players during its Early Access period on Steam and Xbox, proving it has the mainstream cultural relevance required for a major Fortnite crossover event. Furthermore, Fortnite has been actively experimenting with companion and pet mechanics, such as hirable NPCs and tamable wildlife, which could seamlessly integrate catching or fighting alongside Pals.

Whether we see iconic Pals transformed into Back Blings, Pickaxes, or even full reactive Outfits, the foundations for this crossover are solidifying. Players should keep a close eye on upcoming Fortnite updates and Item Shop rotations, as Epic Games has a long track record of turning their community survey data into a reality.
