Hey guys. If you thought the Garena battle royale universe was going to stay locked on our mobile screens, get ready for a massive surprise. As revealed through Garena's official broadcasts and highlighted by the Brazilian portal JBox, a huge bombshell just dropped for the fans: the very first official teaser for Free Fire: Daybreak, the new anime series that promises to dive deep into the lore of the characters we play every day. And yeah, it looks spectacular.

This move by Garena makes perfect sense. We've already seen them drop crazy collabs with Japanese giants like Street Fighter, Attack on Titan, and they even announced a crossover with Naruto Shippuden for 2025. But taking the leap to create their own original anime in partnership with the legendary Kadokawa is taking things to a whole new level.
The preview, which is only 30 seconds long, is just enough to get the hype train moving. In this quick but intense clip, you can clearly see that the animation quality is top-notch, which is pretty much expected when Kadokawa is backing the project. The trailer takes us away from the classic survival island and drops us into a completely fresh and fascinating environment.
If you're wondering what it's all about, the plot takes place in a futuristic metropolis called New Dawn. The setting feels like a perfect blend of cyberpunk and classic sci-fi, giving a totally new vibe to the franchise.
The undisputed protagonist of this story is Kelly, one of the most iconic and beloved faces in the game. In the anime, Kelly wakes up with zero memories of her past in the middle of this massive city. Her search for answers gets her tangled up in something shady called the Bloom Project, a secret initiative run by the mysterious Horizon Corporation.
But our girl in yellow won't be alone on this adventure. The promotional artwork has already confirmed she'll be joined by two other heavyweights from the game: the swordsman Hayato and the hacker Moco. Together, they'll have to face the mysteries of New Dawn. A really cool detail fans spotted in the official image is Kelly's reflection in a piece of broken glass, hinting that we might see some kind of major transformation during the series.
I know you want to watch it right now, but we'll need to be a bit patient. The premiere for Free Fire: Daybreak is scheduled for the Spring 2027 anime season, which means it will drop somewhere between April and June of that year. The good news is that Garena confirmed a global broadcast, although they haven't announced which streaming platform will host it yet.
Behind the scenes, the staff is stacked. It's being directed by Ken Takahashi, who has worked on industry titans like Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer. The script is penned by Hotaru Asafuji, and the soundtrack is handled by Kouji Fujimoto. The actual animation is being produced by Candy Box, the studio behind Blue Archive The Animation.
It's clear that Garena is sparing no expense to make sure this adaptation is a massive hit. While we wait for 2027, I'm sure the game will be packed with events to get us ready.
