Hytopia, a collaborative and independent gaming platform, has announced the launch of Frontiers, a new MMORPG inspired by titles such as Runescape, Elden Ring, World of Warcraft, and Ragnarok Online. The playable demo will be available in July, marking the most significant milestone in its ecosystem so far.
Hytopia allows players, creators, and developers to explore, build, and share games in a voxel-based environment similar to Minecraft. It offers its own SDK to develop multiplayer experiences using JavaScript or TypeScript, with tools designed to simplify both game creation and gameplay.
Frontiers expands the Hytopia universe with new areas, characters, and stories. Key additions include:
A dynamic quest system has also been integrated, offering objectives such as gathering, combat, and exploration.
The new progression system saves data such as health, items, and experience across sessions. Other key improvements include:
Hytopia’s SDK has introduced new functions to simplify the creation of complex games:
Character customization now includes:
In the Marketplace, wallet addresses were replaced with user profiles (name and image), and new moderation and sales analytics tools were added.
Each improvement in Frontiers connects with the platform's other tools. What used to be isolated features now work together: the event system enhances narrative, customization feeds into the marketplace, and new visual assets enrich the creative experience.
The arrival of Frontiers shows how Hytopia continues to build a space where creation and gameplay go hand in hand.
