Skrice Studios, the developers behind Heroes of Mavia, have launched the highly anticipated Web Ruby Marketplace, designed to exchange in-game assets outside of the game environment. This new browser-based platform, currently in a community stress test phase, allows players to trade items using Ruby, with the integration of the $MAVIA token expected later in 2024. The launch marks a significant milestone in the ongoing development of the game, with numerous updates and features planned for the rest of the year.
Heroes of Mavia is a play-to-earn game that utilizes blockchain technology and NFTs. The game is set on the island of Mavia, where players aim to build and develop their armies and engage in battles with other players using resources obtained by attacking other bases. The main resources in the mobile game are gold, oil, and RUBY, the cryptocurrency of the Mavia game.
Similar to Clash of Clans, Mavia Island players build and grow their bases, train armies, and battle against other players. However, what sets Mavia Island apart is the ability to earn real cryptocurrencies, specifically RUBY, by competing against other players on the Ethereum blockchain.
To start earning Heroes of Mavia's RUBY, players must first build ground and air forces, consisting of vehicles, infantry, and air units. These forces can be used to engage in battles and earn rewards in RUBY.
It can be used to fight against other players and protect their own base from attacks. In addition, players must gather a defensive army and upgrade their troops to increase their defense. This can be especially important when it comes to protecting valuable resources.
Ruby Marketplace is an external platform where players can exchange in-game assets using Ruby, a currency from Heroes of Mavia. It is an extension of the Ruby Marketplace, previously launched within the game, which offers multi-platform compatibility and allows players to connect their external wallets to their game profiles. This feature enables seamless transactions between in-game environments and browser environments.
Players can buy and sell various in-game assets, such as skins and decorations, while tracking key economic statistics like top owners, total sales volume, and ownership distribution. The marketplace also provides users with a detailed portfolio description, combining their Ruby balance with the value of the items they own.
To use the platform, players must link their wallets to the game website. Currently, the marketplace only supports Ruby for transactions, and the integration of the token $MAVIA is scheduled for November 2024. Once integrated, players will be able to transact using the governance token $MAVIA and exchange Ruby for $MAVIA.
To celebrate the launch of the Web Ruby Marketplace, Skrice Studios has started a 1 million Ruby giveaway. During the first 30 days following the launch on September 16, 100 daily transactions will be randomly selected, and 150 Ruby will be awarded to both the buyer and the seller. At the end of the 30-day period, another 100,000 Ruby will be distributed among 300 selected transactions. This event aims to incentivize early use of the marketplace and, at the same time, promote business activity.
Looking ahead, Heroes of Mavia has an ambitious roadmap for the rest of 2024. In October, the game will introduce the integration of Mavia Land NFTs and a new hero character, Warlord. This new hero will serve as a "powerful companion" to the existing character, Mira, and is expected to have a significant impact on gameplay, especially in ranked battles and Ruby.
In November, the Web Ruby Marketplace will see the integration of the $MAVIA token. This update will also coincide with the launch of Ruby Exchange, allowing players to directly exchange Ruby for $MAVIA. Additionally, a new NFT mint will update the game market offerings. November will also introduce the Ice Bomb Trap, a strategic game defense that freezes enemy units, giving players an advantage during raids.
December promises more updates, including the release of Headquarters 9 (HQ 9) and a new NFT creation feature. Skrice Studios has hinted that this creation system will be a major innovation in the web3 gaming and NFT space. Furthermore, the Web Marketplace will be enhanced with the tool of
arbitration, which will help players find the best trading opportunities across the platform.
Although details remain scarce, Skrice Studios has hinted at an exciting roadmap for the first and second quarters of 2025. This upcoming phase is expected to be packed with features for both players and traders, and the studio describes it as "one of the biggest releases to date." This forward-thinking approach indicates a continued commitment to expanding the web3 elements of Heroes of Mavia, while keeping its player base engaged with new content and trading opportunities.
The launch of the Web Ruby Marketplace marks a significant advancement for Heroes of Mavia, allowing players to trade in-game assets through a browser interface. As the game continues to evolve, Skrice Studios has laid out a solid plan for future updates, including new heroes, NFT integrations, and market improvements.
