Nexus Interactive, a web3 gaming company, has raised 2 million dollars in an oversubscribed seed funding round led by Animoca Brands, Jump Crypto, Maven Capital, and other investors. The company has already developed two flagship games that have garnered over 1 million plays and generated nearly 2 million dollars in revenue.
The funding will support the development of Nexus Interactive's web3 gaming ecosystem, which is based on three fundamental pillars: Nexus Play, an in-house development studio; Nexus Build, an editor that supports and launches games developed by other studios; and Nexus Share, a community growth platform driven by user-generated content powered by AI. The company has attracted over 100,000 community members through its various initiatives.
Nexus Interactive's flagship title, Everdawn Champions, a 3D collectible card game, was the most played game on Elixir during its closed beta phase. The open beta is scheduled for release in September 2024. In addition to this title, Nexus is working on a base-building game for mobile devices and a post-apocalyptic MMO.
"We are excited to support Nexus Interactive in their mission to create a scalable ecosystem for users, developers, and creators. We believe these efforts will help enhance network effects across our broader network and look forward to the impact that the Nexus Interactive ecosystem will have on the Web3 gaming space," said Yat Siu, Co-founder and CEO of Animoca Brands.
The company plans to launch its NXI token later this year, which will serve as a utility and governance token throughout the Nexus ecosystem, including all internal and published games. The team behind
Nexus Interactive includes developers with experience in projects like Splinterlands and Gods Unchained. Multiple intellectual property partnerships are being prepared as the company gears up for the token launch later this year.
