Roblox is taking a massive step toward listening to its most active community. The platform just announced the expansion of its Teen Council for Civility and Well-being to Brazil and the rest of Latin America. This means players from the region will have a direct line to the developers to influence the game's future.
Unlike other times when we just have to adapt to whatever update drops, this initiative aims to understand what users actually need before launching major features. It’s a smart move considering how massive the LATAM player base is right now. Brazil alone is one of the biggest markets for the platform, with millions jumping into roleplay servers and simulators every single day.

The program is specifically designed for teens aged 13 to 17. The chosen players won't just be there for show; they will have direct meetings with the engineering, marketing, safety, and product development teams. The goal is to bring their real, everyday platform experience to the table.
While the council won't have absolute power to approve or veto changes, the company confirmed their opinions will carry a lot of weight. In fact, during previous editions of this council in other regions, participants successfully pushed for real improvements in communication tools and how community guidelines are presented.
According to details shared previously on the Roblox Blog, the first iteration of the Teen Council in the United States provided critical insights into text filters and voice chat moderation. Now, the platform wants to replicate that success by analyzing the unique nuances of Portuguese and Spanish-speaking servers.
The discussions won’t be about which minigame is the best, but rather about the infrastructure of the ecosystem. The teens will debate chat tools, reporting systems, and safety policies. They’ll also tackle critical topics like parental controls, which are constantly under scrutiny.
Deep down, Roblox wants to ensure that any social-focused update makes sense for the people actually using it. It’s a direct way to prevent out-of-touch executives from making decisions that clash with the reality of the servers.
Expanding the council to Brazil and the LATAM region isn't a coincidence. There’s growing pressure on digital spaces to guarantee the privacy and safety of minors. By including local players, the platform hopes to better understand regional cultural and behavioral differences.
As of right now, there’s no confirmation on whether the selected teens will receive any financial compensation, scholarships, or rewards for participating. However, simply bringing regional experiences into the conversation is a massive win. We'll have to see how quickly these talks translate into tangible tools in the game, but giving the community a real voice is always the right move.
