Roblox is turning back the clock once again. With the app icon reverting to its classic retro look and a cryptic message circulating across platforms with the number 17, everything points to the imminent arrival of The Classic 2, the sequel to the highly successful retro event from May 2024.

If you played the first edition, the general format will feel incredibly familiar. In this guide, I'll explain straight to the point how to get prepared, how the new event currencies work, and the absolute fastest route to secure your rewards without wasting hours running circles in copycat maps.

The Classic 2 release date rumors

While Roblox hasn't published an official schedule just yet, community teasers dropped significant hints featuring code snippets like "- 17 GH" and "T5 17 20". Dedicated players are almost certain this points toward a September 17, 2026 launch. Treat this as a strong hint, but be aware that launch dates can shift.

Alongside these teasers, retro-themed test maps and developer products briefly leaked in Sword of the Heights. We spotted prices for classic gears that definitely built up the hype, including the Windforce (45 Robux), Venomshank (80 Robux), Firebrand (90 Robux), Ice Dagger (150 Robux), Darkheart (270 Robux), and Illumina (120 Robux).

How to enter the official event hub step by step

Before the event actually goes live, the very first mandatory step is making sure your Roblox app is fully updated. Playing on an outdated client is the primary reason why new event assets fail to load and portals lock you out.

To join safely without falling into traps, navigate directly to the Events tab in the main Roblox menu. Don't rely on the search bar. When massive events drop, the search results get flooded with cheap copies that steal the name and thumbnail just to farm visits without giving you any real event progress.

Once you spawn into the legitimate hub, take a few minutes to wander around the classic island setup. Familiarize yourself with the leaderboard location, the Event Tracker, and the lineup of portals that connect to every participating experience.

Tokens vs Tix: What each currency does and rewards

These are the two main currencies of the event, and they function entirely differently. Grasping this distinction early on will save you a lot of headache:

  • Tokens: You earn these by completing specific objectives and quests inside the participating experiences. They are used to purchase limited-time avatar items. In the past event, prices ranged from 5 Tokens for the Ancient Deity Shawl, all the way up to 15 Tokens for the Kleos Erebus.
  • Tix: These are physically hidden around the environments, meaning you only get them by exploring and keeping a sharp eye out. They are spent on hub-exclusive gear. Last year, the lineup included the Drink Coin for 4 Tix, the Rocket Launcher for 6 Tix, the Superball for 12 Tix, the Timebomb for 20 Tix, and Mom’s Dog for 32 Tix.

Keep this pro tip in mind: prioritize gathering Tix first. Often times, you need equipment bought with Tix just to initiate a Token quest, just like the Top Dodgeballer mission that outright required players to own the Superball.

Hub quests and how to get coins fast

The central hub features its own dedicated quest list, and these are hands down the easiest ones to clear for a quick boost to your wallet. Just open the quests menu on the left side of your screen.

I highly recommend starting with the simple tasks that keep you in the lobby. Focus on finishing the kart races (Roblox Racing usually takes 3 laps), beating jump courses like Obby of Glory and Obby of Doom, and hunting down hidden books scattered across the hub. Activating all 9 checkpoint portals is also a fantastic way to earn your first stack of Tix with zero combat involved.

Leaked participating Roblox games

When you're ready to farm the rest of your currencies, the smartest strategy is jumping only into the games you already know inside and out. Attempting to master complex mechanics in BedWars or a complex Tower Defense game from scratch on a tight event timer is a terrible idea.

Leaked lists, heavily discussed on the Roblox Developer Forum and shared by reliable community trackers like @Bloxy_News on X (formerly Twitter), suggest we might see around 30 participating titles for this sequel, featuring heavy hitters like Piggy, Doors, Fisch, and Blox Fruits. Take advantage of your map knowledge to hunt for hidden Tix along the same paths you use to complete the main objectives. This effectively kills two birds with one stone.

Finally, always double-check that your reward actually registered. Keep an eye on your coin counter and ensure you claim everything at the hub before the event closes. If server issues cause a quest to stall, safely exit the hub and rejoin to refresh your session.
