The Nintendo Switch 2 is already stacking up its launch window lineup, delivering titles that appeal to newcomers and nostalgic veterans alike. In the last few hours, we got confirmation that two community favorites are making their way to the new console: Star Fox 64 Remake and a native version of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance.
By taking full advantage of the console's upgraded technical potential, these releases are looking to redefine the classics that originally shaped the industry. If you were still on the fence about jumping into Nintendo's next generation, these announcements might just be the reason to get your wallet ready.
The legendary Star Fox 64 is making a massive comeback with a full remake developed by Velan Studios, releasing as a complete exclusive for the Nintendo Switch 2. While it preserves the core essence and third-person dynamic that hooked us back in 1997, this modern take features completely overhauled visuals and controls updated for today's standards.
Players will once again take control of the iconic Arwing spacecraft, leading the famous squad made up of Fox McCloud, Slippy Toad, Peppy Hare, and Falco Lombardi straight into the Lylat Wars. Your main mission is still to take down the evil Andross and save the planet Corneria, but it's going to look and feel better than ever.
Back in the N64 era, Star Fox 64 revolutionized console gaming by introducing the Rumble Pak. Fans are already speculating how Velan Studios will utilize the Switch 2's rumored advanced haptic feedback to recreate that groundbreaking sense of immersion when piloting the Arwing through asteroid fields.
The game will feature several ways to play: the traditional Campaign in story mode, a Challenge Mode packed with secondary events to complete, and the essential Battle Mode to test your skills against friends. The digital version is currently available for pre-order on the Nintendo store for 1,029 MXN and has an official launch date set for June 25, 2026. If you can't wait to try it out, there's already a free demo available to download on the eShop.

On the flip side, the critically acclaimed action game Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, developed by the talented crew over at Lizardcube, is also making the jump to the Nintendo Switch 2. This Sega title, which previously shined on older platforms, is getting a native port to really push the new hardware.
Considering Lizardcube's stellar track record with retro revivals like Streets of Rage 4 and Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap, handling Joe Musashi's iconic Sega Genesis legacy feels like a match made in heaven. The modernized 2D art style paired with the Switch 2's processing power should deliver a flawless, high-octane ninja experience.
The launch date is officially locked in for September 24, 2026, and it will be available both physically and digitally. Some of the most notable upgrades in this new version include higher resolutions and smoother overall graphical performance. It's also been confirmed that the game will require around 12GB of storage space.

The price tag is estimated to sit right around $30. Plus, players who decide to pre-order their copy early will score some neat exclusive rewards, like the Original Arcade Suit and the Fortune Hunter Amulet. The eShop will also offer additional downloadable content, such as the Starter Pack and the SEGA Villains Stage, giving you even more ways to experience Joe Musashi's adventure.
There is no doubt that bringing back these two reinventions shows Nintendo is balancing innovation with a deep respect for its legacy franchises in this new era.
