Subnautica 2 is finally here, and its Early Access launch is already an absolute madness, surpassing 2 million copies sold in its first 12 hours. In just a few hours, this title has proven it's the undisputed king of current trends on both Steam and Twitch.
If you played the original, you know the unique blend of terror, exploration, and survival that hooked us all. It seems everyone was eagerly waiting for this sequel, because the numbers it's pulling are simply historic.
To put things in perspective, the development team confirmed these incredible initial sales. It hit the million mark and just kept climbing effortlessly.
But that's not all. According to SteamDB tracking, it reached a peak of over 651,000 concurrent players across Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox, which is roughly nine times the all-time peak of the original game.

When it comes to streaming, TwitchTracker shows it completely took over Twitch, peaking at more than 413,000 concurrent viewers and leading the entire platform. Clearly, no one wanted to miss out on diving into this new alien ocean.
This time around, we leave planet 4546B behind to explore an entirely new world, powered by the stunning Unreal Engine 5. Reviews on storefronts are already overwhelmingly positive, largely because the core philosophy remains intact: no traditional combat, just coexisting with a dangerous new ecosystem.
