Heroes of Holdem is a game that combines elements of poker, collectible card games (CCG), and role-playing games (RPG), all within the Web 3.0 environment, using blockchain technology (on the SEI blockchain). The game allows players to own, trade, and improve game assets in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which include heroes, minions, skills, and equipment.

Accessibility and NFTs

Although Heroes of Holdem is free, players can choose to buy heroes and minions in the form of NFTs. These digital assets enhance the team and provide additional advantages in the game. In addition, NFTs can be sold or traded within the market, allowing players to customize and optimize their gaming experience.
The game's free model includes basic heroes for players to try out, which have limited functions compared to acquired heroes, which offer more options and advantages to customize and optimize the gaming experience.

Creation and Management of Heroes

In Heroes of Holdem, players can create or recruit heroes with unique combinations of races (humans, orcs, elves, vampires, dwarves, etc.) and classes (warrior, cleric, thief, mage, among others). Each hero has attributes such as attack power, defense, and special abilities, which influence their performance in battles.

Heroes can be improved by collecting game resources, such as experience or chips (H$RO and G$M), or by using other heroes or cards. While free heroes have predefined statistics, acquired ones

They offer a customizable experience, with benefits such as health bonuses, specific skills, minion points, and equipment

Minions System

In Heroes of Holdem, heroes can have minions (pets) that accompany them in battles. These minions have their own abilities and part of their health is transferred to the hero during combat, which influences how the team is organized.

Minions are collectible cards that function as AI-controlled NPCs in events. They can be recruited, upgraded, and sold to customize the battle team. There are different types of minions, such as dragons (with high health and resistance) or imps (weaker but easier to obtain). In addition, minions can transfer part of their earnings to the hero through a "leech" system. Some hero classes, like necromancers, are better at handling minions, giving them an extra advantage.

Poker

The game is based on the classic Texas Hold'em, but eliminates the traditional betting aspect, focusing on strategy. Players can participate in Sit-and-Go and Multi-Table tournaments, with no entry costs, but with rewards in H$RO based on their performance. The game mechanics are complemented by skills, minions, and equipment, adding strategic depth to classic poker.

The Texas Hold'em poker system is used to determine how heroes interact in battles. Players must combine strategy and luck when making decisions about what to do with their hands. During the battle phase, players make tactical decisions based on their cards and heroes, using special skills and additional cards to improve their odds. Additionally, they can bet, make strategic moves, and use hero skills to win chips and rewards.

Competitions and PvP Battles

Players can participate in competitions and PvP events where they face off against other players using their heroes and minions. During these battles, they must employ strategic skills and cards to overcome their opponents. The rewards for these battles include in-game tokens (H$RO and G$M), which can be used to improve heroes, acquire new heroes, or trade in the market.

In tournaments, players compete against each other, using customized strategies based on hero composition, skills, and minions. Tournament rewards include H$RO and G$M tokens, as well as cosmetic items and positions on the leaderboard for each season.

Ranking System and Seasons

Heroes of Holdem features a competitive ranking system that allows players to measure their skills during each season. This system aims to encourage competition and reward dedicated players with exclusive rewards, as well as the opportunity to climb the rankings.

Players start at an initial rank and earn points as they win matches and PvP events. The global ranking is based not only on the number of wins, but also on the strategy used, the efficiency of heroes and minions, and overall performance in battles. At the end of each season, players receive rewards based on their ranking, which may include chips, NFTs, exclusive heroes, upgrades for existing heroes, medals, and special badges.

The ranking system uses an ELO model, where all players start with 1000 points at the beginning of each season. Seasons have a defined duration and players compete to climb the leaderboards.

Game Economy and Tokens

In Heroes of Holdem, the game economy is based on two main tokens: H$RO and G$M.

  • H$RO is the main currency of the game. Players can earn H$RO by participating in battles, completing events, and achieving milestones. This currency is used to acquire upgrades, characters, recruit heroes, and make purchases of treasure chests and other assets essential for progressing in the game.
  • G$M is an additional currency obtained in a similar way to H$RO, but it has a more specific role. Although it can also be earned by participating in events and achievements, G$M is mainly used for purchasing cosmetics, chests, and as a requirement in the recruitment system. Additionally, it is used for special rewards and to access exclusive events.
