How to Get to Snezhnaya in Genshin Impact 7.0: New Region Mechanics and Tips

Snezhnaya is finally available in Genshin Impact 7.0, taking players to a new region defined by extreme cold, new exploration options, and mechanics that change how Teyvat can be traversed.

Getting there is simple thanks to a new Waypoint, but surviving in the region requires managing the temperature and making use of tools such as the Eye of Graeae.

How to Get to Snezhnaya

With the 7.0 update, a new Waypoint becomes automatically available, allowing players to begin their journey toward Snezhnaya.

The easiest way to find it is to head to Ashveil Peak, near the Special Territory Research Institute, and follow the small islands to the northeast.

The Waypoint may not appear if the map is zoomed out too far, so players will need to zoom in.

Once reached, the Archon Quest will begin again, granting access to the new region.

The Cold Returns as a Threat

Snezhnaya brings back the temperature system previously seen in Dragonspine, but this time it features different levels of cold.

• Cold Zone: Areas with enough resources to stay warm.
• Frigid Zone: More dangerous areas, especially mountains and frozen regions.
• Subzero Zone: Extremely cold regions with very few resources for survival.
• Normal Temperature: Cities and other areas where the cold does not affect the player.

When the temperature gauge fills up, the active character begins taking damage and can eventually die.

Eye of Graeae and New Ways to Survive

The Eye of Graeae is one of Snezhnaya's main tools and allows players to better manage their temperature while exploring.

Players can restore heat by using Kresnik's Torches, attacking Kristoll Ore, or collecting insects such as Kristall Worms and Ledobugs.

The device also provides access to the Shadow Realms, areas where the rules of combat change considerably.

Shadow Realms: New Weapons and Combat

Inside the Shadow Realms, the Traveler loses much of their connection to the elements and must rely on a new arsenal.

The available weapons include:

• Assault rifle.
• Grenade launcher.
• Grenades.

Some of these weapons can use different elements to trigger reactions during combat.

The Shadow Realms also contain ammunition, health recovery items, and chests with rewards.

Trains Connect Snezhnaya

The region features an extensive railway network connecting different cities and towns.

The Call Train allows players to travel long distances while enjoying the scenery, providing a new transportation option.

The Traveler's special train also includes an alchemy station and access to the Shadow Realms.

Prime Ice and New Puzzles

Snezhnaya also introduces Prime Ice Constructs, structures connected to a new type of ice.

Prime Ice can be identified by its iridescent appearance and core. After destroying it, players obtain Prime Ice Count, a material used to create structures.

These constructs can be used to solve different puzzles and help other travelers during exploration.

A New Way to Explore Teyvat

Snezhnaya adds much more than a new territory. The temperature system, Eye of Graeae, Shadow Realms, and railway network all change how exploration and combat work.
