On March 25, Core Wallet, the native wallet of Avalanche and its browser extension, implemented a system that allows most transactions on the Avalanche C-Chain to be executed without gas fees. This measure aims to facilitate blockchain interaction and promote the adoption of the Avalanche ecosystem.
With the removal of gas fees on Core, users can perform transactions without worrying about additional costs. This positively impacts various applications within the ecosystem, including:
Decentralized finance (DeFi).
Blockchain-based games.
Non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Decentralized artificial intelligence applications (DeFAI).
According to Akash Gupta, Vice President of Core, this innovation is a key step towards making Avalanche more accessible. "Eliminating gas fees solves a common blockchain obstacle, facilitating adoption and improving user experience," Gupta stated.
Core Wallet aims to optimize the experience of Avalanche users by removing the friction caused by gas fees. With this measure, the goal is to:
Encourage current users to explore more tools within the Avalanche ecosystem.
Attract new users to Core Wallet as the primary option for operating on Avalanche.
Facilitate blockchain adoption for beginners without advanced technical knowledge.
When a transaction on the Avalanche C-Chain is eligible to be executed without fees, the "zero gas" option will appear on the transaction approval screen.
However, not all transactions are eligible for this benefit, as some will still require partial gas payment depending on the type and amount of the operation.
Current Core Wallet users can start making transactions without additional configurations. For those who have not yet downloaded it, the application is available at:
Desktop: PC and Mac application.
Mobile: Available on App Store and Google Play.
Extension: Compatible with browsers like Chrome.

Core Wallet is a self-custody wallet designed for Web3 users, both beginners and advanced. Although optimized for Avalanche, it also supports other networks such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. It stands out for its intuitive interface and the elimination of fees on actions such as swaps and staking.
