Fortnite continues expanding its temporary events with experiences that combine exploration, combat, and special in-game mechanics across the map. One of the encounters that has generated the most interest among players is the Leviathan event, an activity set inside an underwater biome where users must face a gigantic sea creature while surviving the challenges of underwater combat.
The Leviathan event is centered around a special oceanic area that temporarily appears on the Fortnite map. In this zone, players can access an underwater biome where a PvE battle takes place against a giant sea creature inspired by the classic concept of the “Leviathan.”

The encounter combines traditional Fortnite gameplay elements with new combat conditions related to the aquatic environment. During the fight, players must adapt to factors such as slower underwater movement, whirlpools, ocean currents, and the difficulty of spotting long-range attacks.
The location of the event may change depending on the active Fortnite season or update. However, the underwater biome usually appears in areas far from the center of the map, especially near ocean regions or underwater rifts.

In some cases, Epic Games marks the event using special icons visible on the main map, while in other situations players must discover hidden entrances such as whirlpools, temporary portals, or sunken structures scattered across the ocean.
The boss does not appear automatically as soon as players reach the underwater biome. Usually, the event requires completing certain actions within the area beforehand.
Depending on the active version of the event, players may need to activate underwater mechanisms, destroy specific structures, or survive waves of sea creatures before summoning the main boss.
Tip: entering the event with limited healing items or without mobility tools is one of the most common mistakes made by new players.
Leviathan can move quickly in a straight line to directly strike players. This attack often destroys structures and launches users into deeper parts of the map.
During several phases of the battle, the boss releases large circular explosions around its body. Maintaining medium distance is essential to avoid losing shields too quickly.
During certain phases, smaller enemies appear around players while Leviathan continues attacking from a distance.
Although the event can be completed solo, the fight becomes much more manageable in duos or squads. Team coordination allows players to divide tasks and maintain constant pressure on the boss.

Automatic and long-range weapons tend to perform better during most of the encounter, especially assault rifles or weapons with strong stability. Shotguns are mainly useful when Leviathan becomes vulnerable after specific attacks.
Medkits, mini shields, and healing fish are essential during the final phases of the battle.
Constant movement helps avoid charge attacks and area damage.
Automatic rifles generally perform better underwater than close-range weapons.
Rewards may vary depending on the season and how Epic Games temporarily configures the event. Common rewards include Mythic weapons, bonus experience, and themed cosmetics related to sea creatures.
