Fortnite Save the World returns to everyone — the co-op PvE mode is going free to play on April 16, 2026. This move opens Epic Games’ original looter‑shooter campaign to new and returning players.
Save the World has been a paid mode since 2017, but Epic confirmed the free relaunch and a pre-registration campaign that gives the community cosmetic milestones to unlock.
Fortnite Save the World launches free on April 16, 2026. It will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2 and selected cloud services. Note: the original Switch and mobile devices are excluded.

Epic is running a pre-registration site where players connect their Epic account and register. As community sign-ups hit milestones, everyone who registered receives cosmetic rewards:
To thank long‑time players, Epic will grant existing owners a bundle of progression items on April 16: Hero/Weapon/Trap Superchargers, Survivor Superchargers, Recruitment and Research Vouchers, plus 10,000 Gold to spend in‑game.

Save the World offers base building, looting, crafting and co‑op PvE missions — an accessible way for Battle Royale fans to experience Fortnite’s origins. Will you pre-register and jump in on April 16?
