The true core of gameplay and adrenaline in The Beacon lies in its Dungeon Runs. These runs are fast-paced matches where you venture into procedurally generated dungeons filled with challenging enemies, hazardous traps, temporary upgrades, and valuable rewards.

Thanks to this dynamic system, no two runs are the same. Map layouts, enemy combinations, upgrade paths, and loot are all generated on the fly. This forces you to constantly adapt, experiment with different abilities, and improve your reflexes with every single attempt as you progress through multiple biomes, each featuring its own unique visual style, atmosphere, and challenges.

How to start a Dungeon Run?

To begin your journey, you must cross Dawnport's northern gate and step into danger. Before taking your first step, the game will ask you to make two fundamental decisions:

  1. Select your weapon class: Your choice will completely dictate your combat style, available abilities, and how your character evolves during that specific run.
  2. Commit your energy level (Stamina): You will need to choose how much stamina to commit to the run to determine your earnings.

It is very important to remember that every run starts completely from scratch. None of your upgrades or internal progress carry over from one run to another, so you will have to figure out each new situation using only the resources you find in the moment.

Weapon classes available in Season 1

Every weapon offers a completely different combat rhythm and unlocks unique synergies as the dungeon unfolds. For the launch of Season 1, you will have two main weapon classes available:

Sword & Shield

A balanced close-range choice designed for survivability, crowd control, and steady melee combat.

ESP
  • Primary Attack (Left Click): Executes a 3-hit melee combo in the direction your cursor is pointing.
  • Secondary Ability (Right Click): A charged attack that hits a large area close to your character. It inflicts massive area-of-effect (AoE) damage and pushes enemies back.

Bow

A ranged weapon ideal for players who prioritize precision, strategic positioning, and maximum mobility.

  • Primary Attack (Left Click): Fires an arrow toward your target. If you hold down the button and release it at the right moment, you will launch a powered arrow capable of piercing through enemies.
  • Secondary Ability (Right Click): Summons a rain of arrows that repeatedly strikes rivals in a selected area. It is perfect for clearing zones, recovering ground, or opening an escape route.

Basic mobility: The Dash

No matter which weapon you choose, the spacebar will be your best ally to survive. The Dash allows you to move quickly in the direction you are heading and grants you a brief window of invulnerability against enemy attacks. This mechanic consumes dash charges, which regenerate automatically over time.

Cross Dawnport's gates and claim your loot!
