This first week of February comes loaded with nostalgia and relaxation. While Epic Games invites us to a Victorian mansion to care for plants, GOG strikes back by gifting the foundations of the survival horror genre.

If your wallet needs a break after January's releases, here is the definitive list of free games available to claim starting today, February 5, 2026.

1. Epic Games Store: Peace and Botany

Available: February 5 to 12

This week, the store from the creators of Fortnite slows things down with an aesthetic and cerebral proposal.

  • Star Game: Botany Manor Forget the shooting. In this first-person puzzle game, you are Arabella Greene, a retired botanist in 1890. Your mission is to explore a historic mansion, research forgotten seeds, and find the perfect conditions to make rare plants bloom. It is the perfect "comfort game" for the weekend.

    • Bonus: You can also claim the Poison Retro Set for Pixel Gun 3D.

2. GOG: Living Horror History

Status: Limited Time (Run!)

GOG (Good Old Games) has dropped a bomb for purists as part of their Preservation Program.

  • The Gift: Alone in the Dark: The Trilogy Before Resident Evil, there was Alone in the Dark. GOG is giving away the complete original trilogy (1, 2, and 3) plus the prequel Jack in the Dark. These 1992 titles defined 3D horror. Although the controls are "old school" (tank controls), it is an essential museum piece that now runs perfectly on Windows 10/11.

3. Steam: Horror and Adrenaline "Free to Play"

Status: Available right now

This week, the Steam community has highlighted two free titles covering opposite extremes: absolute fear and pure speed.

  • Dogwalk: If you like short psychological horror experiences, this is your game. The premise is deceptively simple: walk your dog at night. However, the atmosphere quickly thickens, and you will discover you are not alone in the neighborhood. It is a brief experience (approx. 15-20 minutes) but intense, perfect for playing with the lights out.

  • Drift Legends 2: For motor enthusiasts, here comes the sequel to one of the most technical drifting games. This isn't a simple arcade; here, physics matter. It offers highly realistic 3D graphics, detailed engine sounds, and the ability to tune legendary cars to burn rubber on official tracks. If you want to test your driving skills without spending a dime, this is a mandatory download.

Summary: What should I download first?

  1. Go to GOG first; their offers usually last less time.
  2. Stop by Epic Games after 10:00 AM to secure Botany Manor.
  3. Check Steam over the weekend for the indie titles.

Are you Team Botany or Team Classic Horror this week?
