Have you ever dreamed of building your own medieval empire? Wait no more: summon your friends, collect resources, and complete military missions and objectives in a PvE world set in the Middle Ages, specifically the late 13th century. And no, this is not a remake of Age of Empires, but Medieval Empire.
This game allows you to experience the Crusades, in which, for now, you can participate in two factions: the English Crusaders and the Turkish faction, each with their respective technologies and units. Here, teamwork is essential, since you must belong to a land, either your own or as a citizen.
In Medieval Empire, you have complete control of your spot, a small space within other players' lands (cities). If you can afford the investment, you can be the one to offer spaces to other players. With either option, you'll find:
Quests and Tasks
General tasks: These include collecting resources in the city and eliminating invaders on the map. Players earn rewards such as resources and prestige for their province.
Daily Missions: These are renewed daily and are randomly generated. Players receive rewards for completing each mission and reaching milestones. The highest reward is given for completing all daily missions. These quests include:
Simple Tasks: Such as eliminating five invaders, harvesting 100 units of food, or upgrading barracks.
Short Stories: These require sending an army to investigate and solve problems on the map.
Guided Activities: For example, searching for and eliminating bandits in specific areas of the map.
Narrative and Gameplay
Your adventure begins in a PvE zone. As you build your city and train your heroes, there will be constant invasions on your land that you will have to repel. In case you own a piece of land, your city can be located on it and you can claim taxes from other players who want to build on your land.
You can also participate in events, even if they are not near your territory. You can create small temporary camps to be present. But remember, these events are usually full of very challenging PvP and PvE missions; although the rewards are also valuable.
The best thing about Medieval Empire is that you can dedicate yourself to competition, manage your land and its clan, or simply be a trader who trades with other players to obtain in-game items and NFTs redeemable for money like USDC.
Remember that you can play solo on lands that the game itself provides, but paying a higher interest than on other players' lands. Therefore, it would be ideal if you established contact through Discord with the community.
The lands are divided into five categories, and the one provided by the system is level 0: without benefits, with high costs and limited to a maximum of level 5.
Current and Future Factions
English Crusaders: Led by Edward I (Edward Longshanks), the Crusaders are well-armed and disciplined knights, accompanied by heavy cavalry, infantry, and ranged troops.
Turkish Faction: Nomads from Anatolia led by Engin Altan Düzyatan as Ertuğrul Gazi. Their forces are known for their stealth and relentless nature, using weapons such as the harquebus (bow) to defeat formidable enemies.
Future Factions
Roman Empire: Heavy cavalry force and mercenaries.
Mongols: Masters of mounted combat and psychological warfare.
Byzantines: Renowned for their discipline and strategic maneuvers.
As in Age of Empires, each faction here will have its own technologies, but also weaknesses. In addition, they will be influenced by the territory or power-ups that each city has. Therefore, it is essential that you choose carefully which one you want to belong to.
Heroes and army/units
Heroes are key units in the army you want to create, with their own stats, names, durability, and abilities. To create one, you must train and recruit heroes using more than two hours and resources.
Each hero has a limited lifespan, losing durability with each fight until they retire. Some heroes offer inherited NFTs as a reward for progress and experience gained.
Units are the most common and cheapest part of the army. They are divided into three types: Infantry, Archers, and Cavalry. Each type of unit is created in a specific building; you can have two buildings of each type. Like heroes, these units also have a fixed appearance, name, stats, and durability.
While the time and resource consumption is lower than that of heroes, there are special units that require silver coins (one of their uses) and special land for their production. These units can be unlocked through VIP functions or military research, and can be used in battles or sold on the NFT market.
MEE Token
This token is the pillar of Medieval Empire's economy. As such, it has a value cycle that shows how value can be generated through in-game experience. The in-game economy is based on four interconnected points:
MEE as a Basic Utility Token The MEE token acts as an in-game currency and a means of exchange to acquire benefits and upgrades that enrich the experience. It also provides influence in the community and politics, as well as access to airdrops and Special Lands (sort of raffles, concrete information on how it works is still lacking).
MEE as a Currency for Exchanges in DEX MEE can be used in the Medieval Empires DEX to obtain currencies and items usable in the game.
GameFi The token allows for the purchase and exchange of lineage and hero tokens, which are essential for progressing in the game. This gives real value to the token, as you don't need to top up your USDC to progress; the game itself provides the resources.
P2P Taxes Land NFTs allow players to collect taxes from other users who share the land, while both enjoy activities such as building, looting, crafting, and resource gathering. MEE can also be used to pay P2P taxes, land rents, and purchase upgrades or skills that speed up performance in the game.
Tokenomics
Future Features and Regulations
The MEE token could be used by independent third parties for use cases such as staking in player guilds. However, these use cases are not under the control or direction of the project, so be careful.
What is clear is that the game itself offers a variety of options to play, have fun, and be rewarded for each experience. Everything that was desired with classic empire games is back with Medieval Empires, and this time, with rewards for being part of its medieval world.
