Eleven years after its release, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is still making headlines. What once seemed like a closed chapter with Blood and Wine may open again: increasingly solid rumors suggest that CD Projekt Red is preparing a brand-new expansion for the RPG, delegated to the Polish studio Fool’s Theory.
This is no minor novelty: it would be large-scale content, with a new region never before explored in the saga’s video games.

Leaks indicate that the expansion would take us to Zerrikania, a territory barely mentioned in Andrzej Sapkowski’s books but filled with mysticism.
In CD Projekt’s universe, Zerrikania is also the origin of the Manticore School, mentioned in Blood and Wine, opening the door to new gameplay mechanics focused on alchemy and unconventional combat tactics.

Although Zerrikania is the strongest candidate, some Polish outlets suggest that Kovir and Poviss, with their wintry setting, could be the true location. This theory gains traction as it would serve as a narrative bridge toward The Witcher 4, currently in development.
The final decision will set the tone of the DLC:

The return of The Witcher 3 with a new DLC would be an unexpected yet symbolic move: bringing Geralt back into an unknown world, expanding the lore into territories barely sketched by Sapkowski, and perhaps laying the groundwork for the saga’s next great adventure.
Until CD Projekt Red confirms it, the community can only speculate and wait. But if the rumors are true, 2026 could be the year we ride with Roach once more into lands we never imagined exploring.
Geralt may ride once more into the unknown.
