The Life is Strange saga was born on January 30, 2015, when Dontnod Entertainment, under the publication of Square Enix, released the first episode of an episodic adventure that would soon become a cultural phenomenon. With more than 3 million copies sold in its early years, the title surprised players with its deep story and mechanics that, for the time, felt innovative: the ability to rewind time, alter decisions, and explore how each choice affected the fate of the characters. The plot followed Max Caulfield, a photography student who discovers her power in the midst of an intense relationship with her friend Chloe Price, as both face dark mysteries in the town of Arcadia Bay. The game not only offered a narrative full of emotions and moral dilemmas, but also opened a space for conversation about identity, friendship, and destiny within the gaming community.

After the initial success, the franchise expanded with new proposals:

Today, more than a decade after the debut of Max and Chloe, Square Enix is preparing the ground for a new chapter. On January 20, 2026, an official event will be broadcast on YouTube, where the next installment of the franchise will be revealed. The message accompanying the announcement is clear: “Separate the real from the rumor…”. And the rumors suggest that the title will be Life is Strange: Reunion, with the return of the iconic Chloe and Max in a story marked by impossible memories and a tragedy that threatens a university.

What is confirmed is the event and its schedule: 10:00 a.m. PST / 1:00 p.m. EST / 6:00 p.m. GMT / 7:00 p.m. CET. What remains uncertain, but highly anticipated, is whether we will indeed see the original protagonists reunite in a new narrative. The community, which since 2015 has accompanied each installment with debates, theories, and passion, eagerly awaits the announcement that could redefine the legacy of Life is Strange.

On January 20, the truth about Life is Strange will finally come to light.
