Off The Grid is now on Steam

On July 17, 2025, Off The Grid exited early access and officially launched on Steam, adding the platform to its existing releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Epic Games Store. The game retains its free-to-play model and features full cross-play support, allowing players on different platforms to compete together.

A battle royale with its own identity

Far from copying known formulas, Off The Grid introduces a dynamic that blends PvP and PvE encounters in a shared environment. Up to 60 players compete on an island called Teardrop Island, a vertical and fast-paced battleground where survival depends as much on skill as on adapting to the environment.

The game stands out by incorporating a system of modular cybernetic prosthetics — known as cyberlimbs — that alter the character's abilities in real time. These prosthetics can be collected, traded, or purchased in the in-game marketplace, adding a strategic layer to every match.

Instead of picking a fixed loadout, players can adapt their combat style as the match progresses, based on the gear they find or loot from fallen opponents.

Steam launch and content updates

The arrival of Off The Grid on Steam not only broadens its availability, but also comes with improvements on multiple fronts. Key updates include:

• Performance optimization for PC.
• The addition of new maps for deathmatch modes.
• A revamp of the main map with extra zones and greater verticality.

The launch also includes a chapter-based battle pass, new weapons, balancing updates, and fixes based on direct community feedback.

Web3 integration: optional and decentralized economy

One of the game's standout features is its optional relationship with the blockchain ecosystem. Through the GUNZ Foundation — an independent organization developed with Delphi Ventures — the game offers an economic layer where in-game items can be traded as digital assets.

These items can be bought, sold, or exchanged using the $GUN token, though participation in this economy is entirely voluntary and does not interfere with the core gameplay experience.

The goal is to provide an open economy without forcing traditional players to engage with digital assets. Those interested in accessing the Web3 layer must do so through linked accounts, while everyone else can play using classic progression and reward systems.
