As of June 19, 2025 at 00:00 UTC, the IMX staking program will stop operating on Immutable X and will begin on Immutable zkEVM. This transition is part of the merger between both networks and redefines how rewards are distributed to participants in the Immutable ecosystem.
With the end of staking on Immutable X, the IMX Ecosystem Foundation closes a period during which a total of 4.8 million IMX was distributed, with a weekly average of 67,605 IMX.
The last cycle or “epoch” on this network ends on June 19 at 00:00 UTC, at which time:
On that same June 19, IMX staking on Immutable zkEVM will be enabled, allowing token holders to participate in biweekly reward cycles.
To be eligible, users must:
Compatible Marketplaces:
The reward system on Immutable zkEVM is based on 20% of the revenue generated by the 2% fee applied to each NFT transaction on the network.
Factors that determine the amount received:
The reward calculation is proportional to the total tokens staked and the time they are active during the cycle.
Staking can be withdrawn at any time, but rewards will only be received for the period the tokens were active—and only if at least one NFT transaction was made in the same cycle.
Immutable zkEVM allows staking with several wallet types, including:
There is no minimum required for staking, although very small amounts may be unprofitable due to transaction costs.
Users who wish to continue participating in staking must move their funds from Immutable X to zkEVM. There are two ways to do this:
ImmutableX
as the source network and Immutable zkEVM
as the destination.IMX
as the asset and define the amount.Another alternative is to first bridge funds to Ethereum and then to Immutable zkEVM. This option involves more steps and higher fees.
It is also possible to wait until the network merge is completed. In that case:
The transition of IMX staking to Immutable zkEVM represents a new phase in how participation is rewarded within the ecosystem. Users who want to continue earning rewards should:
