WorldShards, the MMORPG Sandbox launched on the Open Loot platform, has taken a significant step towards its future by announcing the launch of its full in-game economy, scheduled for December 2024. This milestone marks a significant advancement on its path towards the Token Generation Event (TGE), which will take place in early 2025. With a strong player base and steady growth since its early access in February 2024, WorldShards continues to gain traction in the web3 community, and its in-game economy will be crucial to its evolution.
Since its launch, WorldShards has managed to attract tens of thousands of players and has accumulated over 300,000 active members in its community. In 2024, the game has recorded over $4 million in sales through various offerings, such as Artifact Boxes, Mystery Island Boxes, and Founder's Lootboxes, many of which sold out quickly. This strong demand has highlighted the community's great interest in the game and its expanding ecosystem.
The December update will bring the introduction of the complete WorldShards economy, starting with Proxy Tokens. These tokens will be the main currency within the game and can be obtained through participation in various game mechanics. Proxy Tokens will play a crucial role in crafting and upgrading NFTs, and they will be able to become game tokens at a ratio of 1:1 when the TGE takes place in early 2025. This opens up a range of possibilities for players, who will be able to use these tokens to enhance their experience and progress in the game.
In an effort to make the game more accessible to a wider audience, WorldShards will remove access code requirements starting in December. This will allow all users to try the game with free access for 30 days, with the option to convert this trial access to permanent if certain activity criteria in the game are met. This move is designed to attract new players and give them the opportunity to experience everything WorldShards has to offer.
A key component of the launch will be the airdrop campaign for all active players, including those who only have trial access. Activity in the game will be the main metric to determine player eligibility, meaning that even those who do not own collectible NFTs can participate in the event. Additionally, all players who already had full access to the game will receive welcome packages that they can gift to their friends. These packages will grant new players full access to the game, as well as 30 gems, a premium currency in the game.
WorldShards has also introduced a welcome package system for players who purchase access to the game. These packages not only provide full access and gems, but also include an additional package to gift to a friend, encouraging game expansion through word of mouth and community. As the game grows, more airdrop campaigns and promotions are planned to continue attracting new players.
WorldShards has big plans for 2025. With its full in-game economy and the TGE on the horizon, the MMORPG will continue to evolve to stay competitive in the web3 market. The team behind the game is committed to adding new features to both gameplay and the economy, ensuring that WorldShards remains relevant and appealing to its growing player base.
Developed by Lowkick Studio in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Gaming, WorldShards is a cross-platform MMORPG that has captured the attention of the web3 community. Lowkick Studio, made up of industry veterans who have worked on successful games like World of Tanks, Allods Online, and Lineage 2, has created an immersive sandbox world in WorldShards. The game was launched in partnership with Open Loot, the platform also behind Big Time and the $OL token.
With the launch of its economy in December 2024, WorldShards strengthens its community and its web3 model. The introduction of Proxy Tokens and airdrops for active players are key steps towards the Token Generation Event in 2025, promising to continue driving its growth and engagement within the game.
