Avengers: Doomsday is the fifth film in the Avengers saga within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and is part of Phase 6. Its release is confirmed for December 18, 2026, in the United States and most international markets.
Since its announcement, the film has generated strong expectations, but also a great deal of confusion due to fake trailers, manipulated leaks, and content created with artificial intelligence. This article brings together only official and verified information available up to December 2025.

The film is directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, who return to the MCU after Infinity War and Endgame.
The script is written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely, while production is handled by Marvel Studios alongside AGBO, the Russo brothers’ company.
The main villain will be Doctor Doom (Victor von Doom), portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. Marvel confirmed that this is a completely new character, with no connection to Iron Man or Tony Stark.

The story brings together several key groups from the MCU:
The core of the conflict revolves around the multiverse, collisions between realities, and the official integration of characters that previously belonged to Fox into the MCU.

The cast was officially revealed in March 2025 through a Marvel livestream that broke audience records. Confirmed actors include:
In total, the film will feature more than 26 confirmed main actors.

As of December 2025, Marvel has not released any full trailer online.
The only official material is an 85-second teaser, released exclusively in theaters starting December 19, 2025, attached to screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash.
This first teaser focuses on Steve Rogers and confirms the return of Chris Evans to the MCU. It shows scenes from his life after retirement, without major action sequences. The teaser ends with the text:
“Steve Rogers will return in Avengers: Doomsday”
Marvel also confirmed there will be four different teasers, each focused on a specific character or aspect of the film.

The official announcement of the title, directors, and the inclusion of Doctor Doom took place during San Diego Comic-Con 2024.
At that event, Marvel also confirmed the abandonment of the Kang storyline following the legal issues involving Jonathan Majors.
Filming began in April 2025 and concluded in September 2025.

Since late 2024, a large amount of fake content related to the film has circulated, including:
This situation caused widespread confusion, as the real teaser has a subtle and minimalist tone, very different from the fan-made trailers circulating online.
Marvel responded by actively removing this content to protect the theatrical release.
