Fortnite's collaboration with One Piece has sparked an unexpected controversy. The opportunity to get free skins for 14 days has led some players to look for alternative ways to obtain the coveted Pirate Shop Access Token, including automated tools, exploiting glitches, and buying accounts. In response, Epic Games has issued a warning about scams.

Fortnite's Treasure Hunters season, which began on November 1, 2026, has attracted attention thanks to its collaboration with One Piece and an extraordinarily rare reward: Pirate Shop Access. However, what started as an in-game treasure hunt has now also led to reports of cheating, scams, and accounts being sold for astonishing amounts of money.
The situation caught the attention of Epic Games, which publicly responded through its Fortnite Status account on November 3. The company warned that buying accounts or using fake tools to obtain the reward could result in a scam and reminded players that everyone has the same chance of finding the access token through Battle Royale chests.
Pirate Shop Access is a special reward that can appear randomly when opening treasure chests in Fortnite.

Its appeal is enormous: it allows players to claim eligible items from the Item Shop without spending V-Bucks for 14 consecutive days after activation. Additionally, the reward provides two separate activation periods, one during 2026 and another during 2027.
The cosmetics obtained remain in players' inventories even after the free access period ends. However, offers that require real money, gifts, and Battle Pass rewards are excluded from this benefit.
The combination of an extremely valuable reward and an unknown drop rate has led many players to spend hours searching for chests, while others are trying to find methods that supposedly make obtaining it easier.
According to a report published by Dexerto on November 3, the hunt for Pirate Shop Access has led to the emergence of automated tools and paid services related to the reward.

Some videos show methods for activating chests located inside locked areas without completing the usual access requirements. However, these methods do not guarantee that the token will appear, as the reward still depends on a random outcome.
One of the most striking cases appeared on eBay, where a listing offered a Fortnite account that supposedly contained an unused Pirate Shop Access Token.
The seller was asking $10,000 or best offer. According to the description reported by Dexerto, the account also included more than 400 skins and various older cosmetics.

However, it is important to clarify that this price comes from a sale listing and does not prove that anyone actually paid that amount. There is also no official way to transfer the token between accounts, meaning the offer involves purchasing the entire account.
Buying or selling accounts is expressly prohibited under Epic Games' rules, regardless of their price or the items they contain.
On November 3, the official Fortnite Status account responded to a post by Pirat_Nation concerning paid services and accounts being offered online.
Epic warned that buying accounts or using fake tools is a scam and explained that Pirate Shop Access can be found through Battle Royale chests, meaning every player has the same chance of obtaining it.

The statement also addresses theories circulating within the community, such as the possibility that certain accounts have better odds or that using specific characters makes the token more likely to appear.
So far, Epic Games has not revealed the official drop rate or confirmed the existence of any method capable of guaranteeing this reward.
Although no new wave of suspensions specifically related to Pirate Shop Access has been announced, Epic Games has policies that penalize cheating and exploiting game glitches.
Since April 2025, cheating violations have been subject to a penalty system that includes:
These measures apply to violations classified as cheating. Other actions, such as selling accounts or exploiting glitches, may result in different penalties depending on their severity and circumstances.

Therefore, using unauthorized software, sharing login credentials, or purchasing third-party accounts could put players at risk of losing access to the game and the cosmetics they have accumulated over the years.
Additionally, Epic has previously warned that certain third-party bots can perform actions without the user's authorization, including spending V-Bucks.
For now, Epic has not confirmed plans to release a specific patch targeting these methods, nor has it announced mass suspensions related to the token hunt.
The company has reiterated its warnings about fake tools and continues to enforce its existing rules against cheating, exploiting glitches, and account trading.
Players can review these rules in the official Fortnite Code of Conduct and the cheating penalties explained in the Epic Games Help Center.
The search for Pirate Shop Access has become one of the most talked-about phenomena of the Treasure Hunters season. Its enormous in-game value has encouraged the appearance of suspicious offers and supposed methods promising to obtain it quickly.
Until Epic Games announces further measures, players are advised to avoid external programs, never share their account information, and search for the reward through the game's normal mechanics.
