The collaboration between Fortnite and Ben 10 was revealed through an official teaser showing Ben Tennyson using the Omnitrix to transform into different aliens. Among the forms shown are Heatblast and Alien X, two of the most recognizable within the franchise.

Although Epic Games has not released all the technical details, the available information makes it possible to understand how these transformations are integrated into the game system and what their actual role is in the player experience.
In Fortnite, collaborations with other franchises usually prioritize the visual representation of characters without modifying gameplay balance. This approach also applies to Ben 10.
The Omnitrix appears as a narrative and visual element, but it does not introduce active mechanics into matches. Instead of allowing real-time transformations, alien forms are implemented as alternative skin styles.

This means that players must select the character’s appearance —such as Heatblast or Alien X— in advance from the customization menu, with no option to switch during a match.
Heatblast is one of the first aliens Ben uses in the original series, characterized by fire-based abilities. In Fortnite, its inclusion reflects its iconic status within the franchise.
Within the game, Heatblast does not function as an active transformation, but as a visual variant of the character. Its design has been adapted to Fortnite’s art style while maintaining its defining features.

From a functional perspective, this form does not introduce any changes to player performance. There are no fire abilities, damage boosts, or mobility changes. Technical aspects such as hitbox and stats also remain unchanged.
Alien X is one of the most powerful transformations in the Ben 10 universe, belonging to the Celestialsapien species. In the series, it possesses abilities such as reality manipulation.
However, this nature is not translated into Fortnite. Like Heatblast, Alien X is included as an alternative skin style for Ben Tennyson. Its design preserves its distinctive visual elements but does not provide any gameplay advantage.
This decision is based on balance considerations, preventing any disruption to player equality.
Although Heatblast and Alien X represent very different power levels in the original series, in Fortnite they serve an equivalent function. Neither affects in-match performance, and both rely on the alternative style system.
The main difference lies in their visual design and narrative importance within the franchise, rather than in gameplay.
So far, official information indicates that the transformations are limited to cosmetic elements. However, Fortnite has introduced additional mechanics in other collaborations over time.
Future updates may include transformation animations, additional aliens, or even dedicated game modes with unique abilities. At this moment, these possibilities have not been officially confirmed.
