South Park will officially be integrated into Fortnite this week through a collaboration that adds characters, items, and game modes inspired by the animated series created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The content is part of a major game update and will be available for a limited time, expanding Epic Games’ catalog of cultural collaborations within its battle royale.

The Fortnite x South Park collaboration will be available starting on January 9, 2026, coinciding with an update corresponding to Chapter 7, Season 1.
The event will run for a limited time and is expected to remain active until approximately February 5, 2026, during which players will be able to access all themed content.

The crossover’s arrival was confirmed by Epic Games through official posts and a promotional trailer featuring Butters, accompanied by the message “Chaos, loading…” alongside the release date.
The collaboration introduces skins based on iconic South Park characters, adapted to Fortnite’s visual style and gameplay proportions. To maintain consistency with the game’s hitbox system, the characters do not appear in their original form, but rather through special suits and mechs that respect standard gameplay mechanics.

The included characters are:
Each skin features additional accessories and cosmetic elements, some of which include reactive in-game features.
In addition to the characters, the event introduces new gameplay elements directly tied to the South Park universe.
One of the standout items is the Stick of Truth, introduced as a mythic-rarity item. This object directly references the video game based on the franchise and is associated with special effects that can alter key match dynamics, such as storm behavior.

The collaboration also adds a new game mode called “Quints”, which allows teams of five players, an uncommon variation within Fortnite’s standard configurations.
At the same time, temporary map changes are implemented, transforming certain areas into locations inspired by the series’ universe, including references such as Cartmanland.
The event includes a free mini-pass titled Born in Chaos. Through this system, players can unlock themed cosmetics by completing daily and weekly challenges throughout the event period.
Additionally, other collaboration items — including skins and accessories — will be available in the in-game store using the internal currency (V-Bucks), with prices set by Epic Games.
Fortnite has established a strategy based on collaborations with highly recognizable cultural franchises, integrating universes from animated series, film, and video games. The arrival of South Park follows previous events with properties such as Star Wars, Marvel, and The Simpsons.
South Park, which has been airing since 1997, has been characterized by its social and cultural satire, maintaining relevance for nearly three decades. Its inclusion in Fortnite represents one of the most notable crossover events at the start of 2026 within the game’s ecosystem.
