The third season of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation reached the conclusion of its first cour this September 27, 2026, but fans won't have to say goodbye to Rudeus Greyrat for too long. Following the broadcast of episode 14, it was confirmed that the second part of the season will arrive in 2027.
For now, there is no specific release date, so only the return year has been officially confirmed. The announcement was accompanied by a new teaser focused on one of the most powerful characters in the entire story: Orsted, the Dragon God.
The First Cour Ended with an Important Decision from Rudeus
The finale of this first part was directly tied to the events surrounding future Rudeus's "journal."
After discovering the tragic fate that could await him and his family, Rudeus decides to take action in an attempt to alter that future. The final episode shows how he starts taking measures and shares with Sylphie and Roxy that their family might be in danger, though he keeps the details about future Rudeus a secret.
However, one of the most crucial moments of the episode occurs when Rudeus finally follows one of the instructions left by his future self: writing a letter to Eris.
Rudeus drafts the letter, and subsequently, Eris receives and reads its content, marking a particularly significant moment after all the time that has passed since their separation.
This decision becomes even more relevant because season three had already revealed what Eris has been doing during all this time: training tirelessly to grow stronger.
And there is a very specific reason for that training.
Orsted Will Be One of the Major Threats in Part Two
The new teaser for the second cour of season three points directly toward Orsted, the Dragon God who previously faced Rudeus.
For followers of the series, his return is no minor event. Orsted is one of the most powerful characters Rudeus has ever encountered, and their initial confrontation made it clear that the protagonist was still far from being able to challenge him.
Since leaving Rudeus, Eris has dedicated a large portion of her life to honing her sword skills. One of her main goals is reaching a level that allows her to face Orsted once again.
Because of this, Eris's return and the announcement of a new confrontation with the Dragon God appear to be closely linked.

And What About Hitogami?
The other major mystery left open by this part of the story is Hitogami, the Man-God.
Future Rudeus left a series of instructions before dying, including consulting Nanahoshi, distrusting Hitogami without confronting him directly, and getting in touch with Eris.
This warning is particularly crucial because the journal reveals a future where Rudeus's choices end up triggering devastating consequences for his family.
Therefore, while the 2027 announcement clearly points to Orsted as a central figure in the upcoming events, Hitogami remains a fundamental piece of the conflict.
That said, it has not yet been confirmed whether Hitogami will serve as the main antagonist for the second cour of the season. What we do know is that Rudeus is now aware of the danger he poses and is trying to make different decisions to avoid the future detailed in the journal.
Mushoku Tensei Will Return in 2027
With the first cour wrapped up, Mushoku Tensei III leaves Rudeus in a completely different position than where he started the season.
He is now aware of a possible future timeline, knows he must distrust Hitogami, has started preparing his family for whatever lies ahead, and, above all, has reopened the door for Eris to return to his life.
