Capcom presented Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth main installment of the saga, at the Summer Game Fest 2025. Although its release is scheduled for February 27, 2026, the game has already begun to accumulate recognition: at the recent Gamescom 2025, it won four awards, establishing itself as one of the most anticipated titles of the coming year.
The story takes players to the Wrenwood Hotel, a setting located near the iconic Raccoon City. There, the protagonist Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst, must investigate a series of mysterious deaths.
One of the key features is the ability to switch between first-person and third-person perspectives, offering flexibility for those seeking direct immersion as well as for those who prefer a more classic view. In addition, the game uses the RE Engine with ray tracing, allowing for realistic atmospheres and a constant sense of visual tension.
During Gamescom 2025, Capcom offered a playable demo showcasing these features, which also served as a presentation piece for the award jury.

The Gamescom Awards evaluate what is showcased during the event, from demos to previews of games still in development. In this case, the recognition for Resident Evil Requiem not only highlights its visual and sound quality, but also the impact left on attendees through its atmosphere and narrative proposal.
The fact that a game not yet officially released achieved four awards in key categories reflects both the level of industry expectations and the confidence that Capcom will deliver a title that upholds the legacy of the saga.
