Splinterlands, the renowned blockchain-based digital card game, kicks off the year with updates and upcoming events for its community. This month, players can enjoy gameplay improvements, new community challenges, and an interactive space to learn about the game’s future.

Game Update

The first update of the year brought some improvements and fixes to the game. Here are the most relevant:

Custom Challenges:

  • Players can now configure up to six different rules in challenges (Cards, Mana, Difficulty, etc.).
  • Cost: 10 Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) or credits except for players with a Runi or over 50,000 SPS in staking.
  • Use the new button on profiles to directly challenge other players.

Gameplay Improvements:

  • The effects of Burn, Fatigue, and Poison now simultaneously affect all monsters.
  • New options allow players to fast-forward between rounds during battle replays, as well as improved playback controls.
  • The play/pause option for battles can now be triggered using the spacebar, with adjustments made to avoid conflicts with browser extensions.

General Adjustments:

  • League renaming: The Novice League is now called the Wood League.
  • New tournament and challenge levels: Novice, Adept, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert.
  • Improved navigation tools and new buttons to facilitate resource acquisition.

Community Challenge

Splinterlands invites all players to participate in this week’s Community Engagement Challenge, themed "Tutorials and Tips from the Community". This is an opportunity for players to share strategies, deck-building techniques, and practical tips to help others improve their skills.

How to Participate?

  1. Choose a Topic: Focus on any aspect of the game—deck building, strategies, rewards, the in-game economy, etc.
  2. Create Useful Content: Write a detailed tutorial or share practical tips that can benefit the community.
  3. Submit Your Post: Publish your content on Hive using the tags #splinterlands and #play2earn.
Share your post on social media and include the links in the comments of the official challenge post.

More information is available in the official post.

Town Hall: A Space for the Community

The Town Hall is a monthly event where the Splinterlands team shares updates, answers questions, and celebrates community milestones.

You can attend the event by joining the Discord (“Main Stage” channel), or watch it live on their YouTube or Twitch channels.

Questions will be answered at the end of the event.

The next Town Hall is estimated to take place on January 16 in the afternoon. This date may vary, so stay tuned for updates on their social media and Discord.
