Calamity’s Play to Test Begin

Calamity kicks off its highly anticipated Play to Test, a special phase where players can earn exclusive rewards over the next four days. This new stage introduces key adjustments that reshape the game’s structure. The update focuses on reworking dungeon dynamics, refining the reward system, and expanding competitive gameplay options. Below are the most relevant changes.

Dungeons: less gold, more strategy

  • A daily 1-hour limit is set for dungeon exploration (default).
  • Gold drops have been removed, pushing players to find new income sources, such as selling gear or purchasing it directly from the site (1 USD = 1000 gold).
  • Boss fights (Stage 9) now require Boss Keys, which are crafted from Fragments at NPC Rufus.
  • Ring holders gain access to an exclusive shop with daily claims of Buff Scrolls (+EXP/+Drop) and Valor Elixirs.
  • Valor Points are now awarded based on time spent inside dungeons, not quest completion.

Economy: scrolls, tributes, and progression

The Premium Shop introduces new items and mechanics:

  • Dungeon Time Scroll (+1h): starts at 150 Gold, increases by +50 Gold per purchase, up to 15 scrolls.
  • Enhancement Scroll (+25% to all stats for 1h): 100 Gold.
  • Wyrm Tribute System: buy a Pass for $2 (or $20 in P2A) and receive daily Gold based on dungeon performance (your fragments vs total fragments farmed).

Fishing: new RNG system

A fishing mechanic based on RNG is now available:

  • Buy bait with Gold and receive instant rewards: Gold, buffs, gear, or unique cosmetics.
  • Cosmetics are fully available in P2A, allowing for deeper customization without affecting balance.

PvP: duels and wagers

  • Duels now support Gold staking and round selection.
  • A PvP dice game has been added, also RNG-based, with Gold at stake.

Class and enemy balance

Key class adjustments:

  • Necromancer: total damage ↓ 5%, orb damage ↓ 15%, orb attacks less frequent.
  • Leshen: damage ↑ 10%, melee attacks more frequent, HP ↑ 3%.
  • Attack speed adjusted for both.
  • Summoner-type mobs can no longer call reinforcements infinitely.

Defense and stats

  • Perfect Dodge: magic resist and dodge chance ↑ from 40% → 50%.
  • Dodge Rating and Resist Rating prefixes buffed ×2.
  • Several items receive additional defensive bonuses.

Skill changes

  • Acid Arrow: cooldown ↓ to 4.5 sec, duration ↑ to 5.5 sec.
  • Lacerate: duration ↑ to 6 sec, cooldown ↓ to 5 sec, now attacks in a cone.
  • Enchant Sword, Arcane Mastery, Cursed Flame: duration ↑ to 6 sec.
  • Ice Lance: freeze ↑ to 3 sec.
  • Phase Veil: mana cost ↑ by 10%.
  • Frost Trap: damage ↑ 10%, tick timer ↓ 10%.
  • Arcane Explosion: damage ↑ 10%, no longer applies Silence.

Class changes

  • Mage: +20% innate Mana capacity.
  • Archer: +5% innate Dodge chance.

Items

  • Deadblight: disarm now lasts 1 sec (was 0.3 sec).
  • Archmage’s Blade: increased mana cost for auto-attacks.
  • All staff damage ↑ ~10%.
  • Mana cost for crossbow and axe skills ↓ ~10%.

Other adjustments

  • Bosses and their mobs now have proper debuff resistance (previously bugged at 0).
  • Drop rate and experience in party play has been reduced across all modes except boss fights.
