How to Use Metal Farms to Get Troilite and Rare Resources in Subnautica 2

Troilite is one of the rarest resources in Subnautica 2. The best way to obtain it in large quantities is by building Metal Farms, which duplicate minerals over time.

Where to find Troilite, Axum Bacterial Cultures and the Metal Farm scan

All of them are located in the depths of the Root Canyon (around 450 meters), past the Alien Power Plant. We recommend having the Depth Modification for the Tadpole.

• Troilite: Obtained from Mineralized Clinker deposits (greenish rocks with dark crystals).
• Axum Bacterial Cultures: Found in pools of yellow/green goo. Break the small cages that contain them.

• Metal Farm Scan: Scan one of the broken Metal Farms in the area.

How to build and use the Metal Farm

1. Craft a Mangalloy Ingot.
2. Use the Habitat Builder (Cultivation tab) to build the Metal Farm.
3. Place the resource you want to duplicate (e.g. Troilite) inside.
4. Wait for the production time and collect with the Sonic Resonator.

Each Metal Farm consumes 20 power. You can build several to produce faster.

• Silver, Lead, Sulfur, Gold, Lithium, etc. → 10 minutes
• Atacamite, Troilite → 20 minutes
