Gamescom 2026 will take place from August 26 to 30 in Cologne, Germany, while Opening Night Live will be held on August 25 and will serve as the starting point for a week of announcements, trailers, and demonstrations. This year's edition will feature major companies such as Xbox, Nintendo, Konami, and Capcom, as well as numerous independent studios.
Although the full list of games that will appear throughout all the presentations has not yet been revealed, several titles have already been confirmed, while others could receive new announcements based on their presence at the event or their release schedules. These are the main games to keep an eye on during Gamescom 2026.
The event hosted by Geoff Keighley will take place on August 25 and will feature world premieres, new trailers, and gameplay demonstrations. So far, three games stand out as confirmed appearances.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final installment in the trilogy that began with Final Fantasy VII Remake, will receive a new presentation during Opening Night Live.
Square Enix is preparing a new look at the RPG, which continues the story of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The presentation will be led by director Naoki Hamaguchi and could provide more information about characters such as Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine, as well as new locations and elements of the combat system.

CD Projekt Red will also showcase The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past, a new expansion announced for the 2015 RPG.
The content will serve as a new adventure starring Geralt of Rivia and is scheduled for release in 2027. Gamescom will be the first opportunity to see material from the project following its announcement, which also creates expectations for possible updates related to The Witcher 4.

Metro 2039, the new main installment in the 4A Games series, will receive a more in-depth presentation during Opening Night Live.
The game is scheduled for February 2027 and will continue the franchise's action, survival, and horror formula. Xbox has also confirmed that Gamescom attendees will be able to play it for the first time.

Beyond Opening Night Live, Gamescom will feature a large number of playable titles. Xbox, for example, has confirmed a space featuring 25 games and 140 gaming stations, including several of its major upcoming releases.
Among the most important are:
The Xbox lineup also includes titles such as Alien Deathstorm, Armatus, Bad Magpie, Crowsworn, Genigods: Nezha, and Terrible Lizards.
Konami has confirmed its presence at Gamescom 2026 with several of its upcoming projects. One of the main titles will be SILENT HILL: Townfall, which will receive a new trailer during Opening Night Live.
The psychological horror game will also have an interactive experience at Konami's booth. The company will additionally bring Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, while Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 will be part of activities related to the franchise.
Capcom will also be present at Gamescom 2026. Among the titles announced for its booth are Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, Mega Man: Dual Override, and Onimusha, with playable demonstrations prepared for attendees.
Gamescom's organizers also maintain an official search tool featuring exhibitors, products, and hall layouts, meaning the list could expand as companies update their participation.
Alongside the announced titles, there are several candidates that could receive updates during Opening Night Live. In these cases, they are predictions and rumors, not confirmed appearances.
One of the main candidates is Gears of War: E-Day. Xbox has already confirmed its playable presence at the event, so a new trailer during the opening presentation would be possible, although it has not been officially announced.

Alien: Isolation 2 and Spyro: A Realm Beyond are also among the candidates. Both were previously announced, and Xbox has confirmed that they will be available at Gamescom, increasing the possibility that they could receive new material during the week.
Other names mentioned as possible appearances include Crazy Taxi: World Tour, Jet Set Radio, OD, and Physint. However, in these cases, the evidence is considerably weaker. The presence of a game on a list of predictions does not mean that the studio has confirmed its participation in Opening Night Live.
Based on the information confirmed so far, Final Fantasy VII Revelation, The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, and Metro 2039 are the titles with confirmed appearances at Opening Night Live.
At the event, Xbox's lineup will be one of the main points of attention, particularly due to the opportunity to play Gears of War: E-Day, Fable, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Metro 2039, and Alien: Isolation 2. Konami, meanwhile, will have a notable presence thanks to Silent Hill: Townfall and Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse.

Gamescom 2026 could still receive new announcements before and during the event. Therefore, games mentioned as possible surprises should be distinguished from those whose presence has already been officially confirmed.
Gamescom Opening Night Live will take place on August 25, while the event itself will run from August 26 to 30, 2026.
