Hollow Knight Silksong Guide: Slab Key Locations & Doors

In Hollow Knight: Silksong, exploring every corner always pays off. Throughout your adventure, you will find optional areas full of secrets and very useful items, but many are locked. To access them, you need to find the Slab Keys (also known as simple keys).

In total, there are four of these keys scattered throughout the map. In this guide, we explain exactly where to locate each of them and which locks you must open to get the most out of your game.

Where to find all the Slab Keys in Silksong

Getting these four keys requires a bit of exploration and, in one case, completing side quests. Here is the exact location of each one:

1. Key for sale in Bone Valley

The first one is the most straightforward to get. You can buy it at the shop located right next to the Bellway. Its price is 500 Rosaries, so make sure to save some money before visiting it.

2. Key in Sinner's Path

Head to the vertical room located on the right side of this area (the same one that connects to the Bile Waters entrance). Climb to the very top, where a tough enemy awaits you. Upon defeating it, it will drop the second key.

3. Key in Karak Sands

To reach this area, climb up the left side from where the sister who teaches you the charged attack in Frayed Steps is located. Head towards the far east of the area until you find a resting bench. Inspect the insect resting eternally there, and you will obtain the key.

4. Jubilana's Key in Song Enclave

This one requires several steps. First, buy all the items from the vendor in Bone Valley and activate the First Sanctuary. Then, check the notice board to start "The Wandering Merchant" quest and rescue Jubilana in the early levels of the Coral Chambers.

If she disappears some time later, accept "The Lost Merchant" quest and find her in Memorium (jumping through the ceiling to the right). Eliminate the enemies besieging her so she returns to the Song Enclave, where she will finally sell you the last key for 650 Rosaries.

Where to use the Slab Keys: Doors and rewards

It is highly worthwhile to use these four keys, as they hide fundamental tools for Hornet or open paths to completely new areas.

Door in the Worm Pits

Equip the Nimble Step and Hover Cloak abilities to reach the left part of the map, above the Valley. Advance through the Worm Pits dodging the creatures' acid until you stumble upon a Mask Shard and the locked door. Inside, a huge, confusing level and an alchemist with a very valuable quest await you.

Door in Deep Docks

Look for this door right below the forge shop. Upon opening it, you will find a flea, a spool shard, the Flint Stone tool, and Artisan Metal. Later on, when you get the Elongated Claw, this route will give you access to a completely new area.

Cage in Sinner's Path

With one of the keys, you won't open a door, but a cage. Trapped here is the Green Prince, one of the most important NPCs in the whole game. Freeing him triggers a series of encounters on the map that will allow you to visit an exclusive place during Act III of the story.

Door in High Halls

This lock is located near the resting bench and the Ventrisca station, right before the combat arena in the Citadel. Behind it lies the grand treasury, a place full of Rosaries and where you will find the powerful Rosary Cannon tool.
