Moonfrost has officially launched its Early Access phase on July 16, 2025, at 11 AM UTC. This stage is exclusively available to holders of a Gnome Key or a Frost Hunter License via the Open Loot platform.
The decision to use Open Loot as the launch platform addresses a specific need: enabling access to a Web3 environment without technical hurdles. Players can enter the world of Moonfrost without setting up wallets, without paying gas fees, and using traditional payment methods like credit cards or PayPal.
This approach aims to attract both experienced gamers and newcomers curious about blockchain mechanics without complications.
In this initial phase, players can explore a variety of activities designed to lay the foundation of the Moonfrost experience. One of the core features is fishing, previously tested by the community with positive results.
According to official data, over 80% of players rated the mechanic as enjoyable, and a majority expressed interest in future multiplayer features related to this activity.
The “Mountain” map, available from the start, introduces an open-world zone with multiple fishing spots, exploration areas, and resources that vary by location and time of day. This environment also enables other tasks such as gathering, farming, and using workstations, all within a pixel art-themed setting.
Another core aspect of the game is environment customization. The building and decoration system allows players to design their own spaces using blueprints and themed items, ranging from rustic to futuristic styles.
Additionally, task systems, missions, and daily rewards have been activated, offering internal currencies like Sil or Craftcoin—and in some cases, utility tokens such as CRYO—while the main token, $FROST, remains pending activation.
The game’s economy also includes the crafting of special tools known as Frost Tools, which increase the chances of obtaining rare resources. These tools are non-transferable and must be crafted periodically.
As development progresses, the economic ecosystem is expected to be regulated through a rarity system and balanced rewards, supported by a whitepaper and an official wiki currently in development.
To access the Early Access phase, players need a Gnome Key, available through marketplaces like Open Loot at a base price of approximately 10 USD.
Regarding technical requirements, a setup with Windows 11, 16 GB of RAM, and a dedicated graphics card (RTX 2070 Super or similar) is recommended for optimal experience. However, the game is also playable on more modest setups starting with Windows 7 and mid-range cards like the GTX 1660 Ti.
The roadmap includes a future free-to-play version, alongside expansion to platforms such as Epic Games Store, Steam, and mobile devices. Localization to various languages, including Spanish, is also in progress.
For those interested in joining this early phase, it is recommended to acquire a Gnome Key and join the official Discord channel, where the development team collects feedback and offers technical support. Progress during this stage will also be essential in shaping the final content and balance of the game.
