Pokémon is a franchise of video games, collectible cards, and anime that has been part of the lives of viewers and players around the world for decades. Nowadays, there are many different types of games within this worldwide successful franchise, but today we will focus on one of its current pillars:

Pokémon GO

But first, as we always do, let's ask ourselves that familiar question:

What is Pokémon GO?

Pokémon GO is a mobile video game created by "Niantic Labs" that aims to provide players with a more immersive experience. It adapts the 2D/3D gameplay of previous Pokémon games into an augmented reality experience, using your real-world location and your camera to catch Pokémon.

What does this game offer?

The game features various events depending on the season, Pokémon evolutions, battles, bosses, and the need to move around in order to find your favorite Pokémon. This system works through the map: a Pokémon can appear on an avenue, a street, at your home, or in a park, and you will have to walk there and try to catch it. There is something truly remarkable about the game: the worldwide reach of its events. If you are in Latin America, for example, you can battle alongside or against players from Asia.

    

What's New?

This season begins on September 8 and ends on December 1, bringing new Pokémon, events, and much more:

• New Pokémon: Pokémon from the Nintendo Switch games, "Pokémon Scarlet" and "Pokémon Violet", will make their way into Pokémon GO.

• New Mega Evolutions: "Staraptor", "Chandelure", and more Pokémon will receive a Mega Evolution.

• New "Max" Pokémon: "Dynamax Rhyhorn", "Dynamax Sneasel", and "Dynamax Sizzlipede" will appear in "Max Battles" throughout the season at Power Spots. Meanwhile, "Dynamax Uxie", "Dynamax Mesprit", and "Dynamax Azelf" will make their debut during a "Max Battle Day" in the Twilight Trails season. [Max Pokémon are Pokémon that use special Dynamax or Gigantamax mechanics, while Power Spots are special locations where Max Battles take place.]

• New Pass: The "GO Pass" works by completing tasks, leveling up, and earning great rewards. As a bonus, the pass includes "Milestones", which provide additional rewards and benefits that remain active until the season ends.

• Seasonal Rotations: During Twilight Trails, some Pokémon species available throughout different parts of the game will change to match the season's theme. There will also be changes to the Pokémon that can appear in Eggs and the rewards from "Field Research", allowing players to encounter different species throughout the season. These rotations will also be accompanied by the various events taking place during the season.

• Community Days: September 12, October 10, and November 21 will feature "Community Day" events. These events focus on a specific Pokémon, which becomes much more common for a limited time and may offer special bonuses, increased chances of finding its Shiny form, and other unique features. They only last a few hours, so make sure to stay alert!

This game is highly entertaining. However, you should always be careful when going outside or visiting places suggested by the app. Your safety should always be your priority, so be careful when going out to catch Pokémon, not because of them, but because of the dangers that may be around you.
