Resident Evil Requiem, known in Japan as Biohazard Requiem, is the ninth main title in the saga and one of the most anticipated games at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 (TGS 2025). The event takes place from September 25 to 28 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, and the presence at the Capcom and PlayStation booths will be a highlight.
The game is set in the year 2028, in a Midwestern U.S. city near what was once Raccoon City. The protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, investigates mysterious deaths connected to the Wrenwood Hotel, the same place where her mother, Alyssa Ashcroft, survivor of the Raccoon City disaster and character from Resident Evil Outbreak, also died.
Capcom has included Resident Evil Requiem in its main lineup with demos, talks, and live presentations.
In addition, the public will be able to try an extended playable demo for the first time, available at both Capcom and PlayStation booths. The game had already won awards at Gamescom 2025, including Best Audio and Best Visuals.
The special E-Capcom store will also feature exclusive merchandise, such as figures and limited editions of the title.
Resident Evil Requiem will arrive in 2026 as the sequel to Resident Evil Village, combining nostalgia with new mechanics. The Tokyo Game Show 2025 is shaping up to be the last major showcase before its release, and fans hope that rumors about iconic characters like Leon will be confirmed at Capcom and PlayStation stages.
