Silent Hill 2 Remake arrives on Xbox

Silent Hill 2 Remake is the modern version of the classic survival horror originally released in 2001. Developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami, this edition updates the story of James Sunderland, who travels to Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his deceased wife.

The remake maintains the psychological focus of the original and presents a fog-covered town, symbolic creatures, and moments centered around themes such as guilt, grief, and confusion.

Release date and platforms

The initial release took place on October 8, 2024 as a timed console exclusive for PlayStation 5, and on PC through Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.

On November 21, 2025, the game arrived unexpectedly on Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Microsoft Store, in a shadow drop that enabled Xbox Play Anywhere support. This allows a single purchase and synchronized progress across console and PC. The file size is around 50 GB, suitable for quick installations.
