In the latest AMA session, exciting news and upcoming events for the Pixel community were revealed. Here's everything you need to know, from gameplay mechanics updates, guild wars clarity, to the long-awaited Christmas event.
Big AMA Announcement Delayed The big announcement many players have been waiting for has been delayed and will be shared next week. What's taking so long? Are we looking at full Chapter 2.5 integration? Stay tuned for more news soon!
The popular Guild Wars event is getting an overhaul, focused on the most dedicated Pixel players who enjoy competition. While the event has been somewhat niche, with fewer than 4,000 participants, the team is committed to improving the experience.
To make the prizes more accessible and the event fairer for everyone, changes will be made to the earning mechanics, reducing frustration related to RNG. The goal? To make Guild Wars worth your time and energy, especially compared to the long-term task board.
As part of this change, rewards will be adjusted to those most active in the community. And while Guild Wars is a long season, constant updates and improvements are expected to be made. The first Guild Wars distribution is scheduled for Tuesday, with hopes of more participation in the weeks following.
This holiday season, Pixel is introducing a delightful surprise: Penguins! These adorable pets will be part of the holiday event, with around 400 penguins available to players.
Each penguin has an ice status boost that decreases the time required for the relevant industries, making them a valuable addition to any collection.
Along with the penguins, new boost mechanics will be implemented, and players will be able to earn up to two penguins.
In terms of shopping, Mistletoe Token Shops will allow players to purchase gacha boxes containing a variety of currencies, such as $PIXEL, coins, and mistletokens, offering multiple ways to obtain these festive prizes.
During the AMA, several key questions were answered, shedding light on the future of the game and community feedback:
Time Zone Issues in Guild Wars: The development team is actively working to adjust event times to accommodate different time zones. They plan to experiment with new maps and announce changes early to reduce constant effort.
Guild and Alliance Competition: Concerns were raised about large guilds forming alliances to dominate the low and high tiers. While this self-selected system could lead to imbalances, the team suggests that smaller guilds band together to challenge larger guilds.
The Future of Pixels and Onboarding: The team recognized the need to improve the onboarding experience, especially for new players, and will focus on improving the RPG elements of the game. Changes are being made to ensure that players understand the game's meta from the start.
Guild Wars Holiday Calendar: The event will continue through the holiday season. Whether you're spending time with family or enjoying the festivities, you don't have to worry about missing out - the season will give you time to make up for the days.
The close of the year promises significant updates. The team is focusing on improving Pixel's economy, especially the land system, which has been a controversial topic. There will also be major updates, including a major item and experience rebalancing by the end of the year, which they hope will resolve some of the long-standing issues related to resource inflation.
Stay tuned for the upcoming holiday event, and remember that the team is constantly working to improve the experience for new and returning players alike.
