Season 06 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone arrives on September 17 with new maps, modes, weapons, and events. In addition to the playable content, it is a good time to review several settings that can change how movement, visibility, audio, and the interface are experienced.

Some of these options are not enabled by default or appear in less visible sections of the menu. Here are 10 settings worth checking before starting to play the new season.

1. Enable Aim Assist

In Black Ops 7, aim assist can be configured from the controller settings. Players using a controller should check that Target Aim Assist and ADS Aim Assist are enabled.

The settings may vary depending on the playstyle, but keeping aim assist enabled allows players to take advantage of the system designed to make target tracking easier with a controller.

2. Minimize Motion Blur

World Motion Blur and Weapon Motion Blur can reduce image clarity during fast movements.

Disabling them keeps the image more stable when the character turns, runs, or quickly changes direction. It is also one of the settings that different Black Ops 7 guides recommend reviewing when configuring the game.

The option can be found in the Graphics section.

3. Adjust the Field of View

The FOV (Field of View) determines how much of the surrounding area the player can see. In Black Ops 7, it can be configured across a wide range, so there is no single value that works for everyone.

A higher FOV allows players to see a larger area, although it also makes targets appear smaller. GamesRadar, for example, recommends testing values above the default depending on the distance from the screen, while other competitive configurations use different values.

For this reason, this setting should be tested in private matches before settling on a final value.

4. Change the ADS Field of View

Within the View settings, players can also modify how the field of view behaves while aiming. The ADS Field of View: Affected option maintains a wider field of view while aiming and is used in different recommended Black Ops 7 configurations.

The result may feel different depending on the selected FOV, so both settings should be adjusted together.

5. Disable Music During Matches

In-game music can compete with other important sounds during a match. Reducing or disabling Gameplay Music Volume and Cinematic Music Volume gives greater prominence to sound effects.

Black Ops 7 configuration guides generally recommend keeping Effects Volume high, since this category includes important combat sounds, while music can be reduced considerably.

6. Enable Tinnitus Sound Reduction

Explosions, stun grenades, and other effects can produce particularly intense sounds. The Reduce Tinnitus Sound option reduces the impact of certain sound effects.

This feature does not change combat mechanics and can be enabled from the audio settings. Call of Duty has incorporated this type of setting as part of its accessibility features.

7. Enable Minimap Rotation

Minimap Rotation makes the minimap rotate according to the direction the character is facing. This allows players to interpret map positions using the player as a fixed reference point, instead of constantly having to mentally adjust the orientation. The option is part of the standard interface settings recommended for Call of Duty.

It can be found under Interface > Gameplay HUD.

8. Customize Interface Colors

Call of Duty allows players to modify different colors used by interface elements. These include indicators related to teammates, enemies, and other HUD elements.

Changing these colors can make it easier to identify certain elements in situations with many visual effects. Black Ops 7 also features specific HUD customization options, while specialized guides recommend using colors with greater contrast.

There is no universally suitable color: the important thing is to choose one that can be easily distinguished from the environment.

9. Check Corner Slice

Corner Slice is part of the assisted movement options in Black Ops 7. Its function is related to how the character behaves when approaching certain corners.

Unlike other settings that simply affect the image, this option changes how certain movement actions are performed. For this reason, it is worth testing before using it in competitive matches.

It is also recommended to review other Intelligent Movement options, such as Sprint Assist, Mantle Assist, and Active Roll Assist, as their effects depend on each player's playstyle.

10. Check the Controller Deadzones

Dead zones determine how far a stick must move before the game registers the input.

A value that is too high can cause small movements to go unregistered immediately. However, lowering it too much can cause unintended movement if the controller has stick drift.

For this reason, a common reference is to use the lowest value that does not cause unintended movement. Different current Black Ops 7 configurations use low values, but there is no single number that works the same way for every controller.

Review These Settings Before Playing Season 06

The new season of Black Ops 7 and Warzone begins on September 17 and adds content related to The Haunting, including new maps and modes, Zombies content, and a special event related to DOOM.

Before jumping into the new matches, reviewing these settings can help adapt the game to each player's controller, screen, and playstyle. Not all of them need to be configured the same way: especially FOV, deadzones, and movement assists require testing to find a comfortable and stable configuration.
