Genshin Impact 7.0: Artifact Guide and New Sets

Artifacts are one of the main ways to increase characters' damage, survivability, and utility in Genshin Impact. In version 7.0, the arrival of Snezhnaya introduces two new sets linked to the region's new reactions: Scarlet Proof and Heart of the Furnace.

Choosing these items correctly requires paying attention to both the set bonuses and the main and secondary stats of each piece. This guide summarizes the key aspects to consider in the update.

How Do Artifacts Work?

Each character can equip five pieces: Flower of Life, Plume of Death, Sands of Eon, Goblet of Eonothem, and Circlet of Logos. The Flower always has HP as its main stat, while the Plume always provides ATK. The other three pieces can have different main stats depending on the type of artifact.

Sets provide bonuses when equipping two or four pieces. Therefore, it is not always necessary to use five pieces from the same set: a 4+1 or 2+2 combination may be more convenient if it allows for better stats.

Which Stats Are Important?

The choice depends on each character and their role within the team. For characters that directly deal damage, the most common stats are CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, ATK%, and Elemental DMG Bonus. However, some characters benefit more from other stats, such as DEF%, HP%, Elemental Mastery, or Energy Recharge.

Energy Recharge is particularly important for characters whose role depends on frequently using their Elemental Burst. On the other hand, characters that scale with DEF or HP will not necessarily perform better by stacking ATK.

For this reason, obtaining a five-star artifact does not guarantee that it is a good piece. The stats must match the character's needs.

New Artifact Sets in Version 7.0

The update introduces Scarlet Proof and Heart of the Furnace, available in the Inverted Glacier domain, located in Snezhnaya. They can also be obtained through the corresponding Spiral Abyss Artifact Strongboxes.

Scarlet Proof

The set provides 18% ATK with two pieces. With four pieces, it increases the character's CRIT Rate by 16% and Stellar Swirl DMG by 40% for 10 seconds after triggering this reaction.

Its effect is mainly designed for Anemo characters who can trigger Stellar Swirl. The four-piece effect requires the equipped character to trigger the reaction while on the field.

Therefore, it is not a universal set for Anemo characters. Its usefulness depends on whether the team can consistently trigger Stellar Swirl.

Heart of the Furnace

This set also provides 18% ATK with two pieces.

With four pieces, it increases the wielder's ATK by 12% for 12 seconds when they trigger or deal damage through a Stellar Glimmer reaction. It also increases Stellar Glimmer DMG dealt by nearby characters by 50%. The effect can be triggered even when the wielder is off the field.

Due to its characteristics, it is mainly aimed at support characters in teams that use Snezhnaya's new reactions.

How to Choose the Right Artifact?

The priority should be to first obtain the correct main stat. After that, players can look for better substats and finally optimize their pieces through replacements.

It is also important to analyze the team's rotation. A set may appear stronger on paper but lose effectiveness if its bonus cannot be activated consistently.

In version 7.0, this is especially important with the new sets, as their bonuses are directly related to Stellar Swirl and Stellar Glimmer.

Where to Get Good Artifacts?

Blessing Domains are the main source of artifacts. Starting at Adventure Rank 45, the highest-level domains guarantee at least one five-star artifact for every 20 Original Resin.

For this reason, players who have not yet reached that rank should not spend large amounts of resources trying to obtain perfect artifacts.

In version 7.0, the Inverted Glacier domain is the main location for obtaining Snezhnaya's two new sets.

Ultimately, the arrival of Scarlet Proof and Heart of the Furnace expands the available build options, but both sets are designed for specific compositions. The best choice will continue to depend on the character, their stats, the rotation, and the reactions used by the team.
