The world of Off The Grid keeps evolving, and the latest May 30th update is no exception. This time, the developers focused on improving combat experiences, refining key mechanics, and launching fresh content with a bold and sharp aesthetic. Here’s what stands out in this update.

Cyberlancers: a new cyberlimb that leaves a mark

The main addition is the Cyberlancer, a new cybernetic implant that combines mobility and lethality. When activated, the player dashes straight toward an enemy, deploying a sharp blade that deals immediate damage and a persistent bleeding effect, leaving a visual trail for several seconds.

It’s available in ground loot and HEX terminals, and it's set to change the dynamics of melee encounters.

Mobility improvements: more dynamic jetpack

Movement fluidity also gets some attention. Jetpack-enhanced sliding now covers more distance and speed, while landing rolls have been optimized to travel further after a fall.

Visual effects for both actions have also been updated to ensure the experience is as spectacular as it is functional.

HEX Terminals: key tweaks for smoother matches

HEX extraction terminals are now more intuitive. Key changes include:

  • Interaction is now possible as soon as the player is near the terminal.
  • Destroying a generator is no longer required to hack or resume.
  • If no HEX is possessed, interaction is automatically blocked.
  • Improved visual clarity for heat dissipators and added new sound effects to highlight their activation.

Weapon balancing: accuracy, recoil, and control

Weapons received significant updates:

Assault Rifles

  • Bullet speed reduced by 10%.
  • Improved base spread, making shots more consistent.
  • Recoil patterns now more controllable and less erratic.

Slugger

  • Sticky substance area increased by 20%, affecting a wider radius.
  • Now slows enemies to 0.25x their normal speed.
  • Improved substance spread, now covering 1.5x more area.

Slamfist

  • Fixed a bug that prevented weapon draw if a charge was canceled by switching gear.

New victory screen: winning feels (and looks) better

The victory screen has been redesigned with new visual and sound effects, including a final cinematic that gives each win a more epic closure. A visual upgrade that reinforces the sense of accomplishment.

Battle Pass "Red Ant": rewards with attitude

The new Red Ant battle pass is now available, packed with content:

  • Red ant-themed skins, with a tactical and aggressive style.
  • The “Red Carded” emote, perfect for celebrating eliminations with sarcasm.
  • A new design for the Mavinga Red Ant.
  • “Wolf Tamer”, a special skin for the most loyal players.
  • Additional rewards that combine style and utility in combat.

General fixes: technical polish

Several minor bugs were also addressed, including:

  • FPS drops in the lobby.
  • Visual glitches with ziplines and death animations.
  • Improved collisions to prevent getting stuck in objects.
  • Visual errors with cosmetic content and HEX terminals.

The May 30th update in Off The Grid shows that the dev team is committed to refining every detail of the game. Between the brutality of the Cyberlancers, the flair of the new Battle Pass, and the gameplay tweaks, this version aims to raise both the competitiveness and the visual delight of the title. If you haven’t played in a while, now’s a great time to come back.
