The development team behind Parallel TCG has released a detailed update on the current state of the game, the progress made since the internalization of development, and the short- and mid-term plans.

This transition has involved a deep restructuring across multiple technical, design, and user experience areas, aiming to deliver a stable, functional experience for both PC and mobile devices.

Transforming Development

Between Q2 and Q4 of 2024, Parallel TCG fully migrated its technical operations from an external provider to an internal team. This transition included rewriting code, creating new deployment systems, and integrating teams in engineering, design, QA, marketing, and playtesting.

In October 2024, the first deployment under this new structure was executed, marking a turning point in the studio’s operational autonomy.

Matchmaking: Stability and Fairness

One of the critical issues addressed was the matchmaking system. Until late 2024, the game suffered from unbalanced matches and relied on unstable third-party services.

Since then, the system has been migrated to a new infrastructure that provides greater control and significantly improved the MMR algorithm, resulting in more fair matchups.

  • Current status: fewer crashes and more accurate matchmaking.
  • Near future: connectivity bug fixes in progress, with improvements expected in early June 2025.

Expansions: From Aftermath to Deception

The Aftermath expansion, released in November 2024, was the first to be partially developed by the internal team. While around 40% of the set was created in-house, the rest was completed by Electric Square. Three follow-up patches were released to fix critical bugs such as "soft locks."

  • Next expansion: Deception, scheduled for August 2025, will be fully developed and tested by the internal team.
  • Public playtesting: set to begin in late June 2025, following internal tests starting in May.

Match Stability: Reducing Critical Errors

During the second half of 2024, many users reported crashes and freezes during matches. Since then, automated testing systems have been implemented, significantly reducing these issues.

  • Current status: lower frequency of soft locks and improved preventive detection.
  • Commitment: maintaining agility in quickly addressing any remaining issues.

Mobile Optimization

One of the biggest challenges has been optimizing the client for mobile. Since mid-2024, the team has managed to run Parallel TCG on Android and iOS devices, achieving acceptable performance rates on most tested devices.

  • Reduced graphical loads: rendering calls on the battlefield dropped from 490 to 240.
  • Temporarily excluded screens: features like the Deckbuilder and card collection were removed to prioritize stability.

Upcoming Mobile Milestones

  • Deckbuilder: expected in July 2025.
  • Battle Pass: scheduled for June 2025, with UI adapted from its original version.
  • New optimizations: ongoing to integrate key screens and improve overall performance.

UI Redesign

To make the game functional on smaller screens, various interface elements were redesigned. While some decisions received criticism from the community, functionality was prioritized over visual design in this early phase.

  • Authentication: sign-in via Google and Apple is now available. Native methods and guest options are being considered for the future.
  • Battlefield: multiple iterations have been made to adapt visual and functional complexity to the touch interface.
  • Planned improvements: a new prompt system and updates to the card dragging mechanic, scheduled for July/August 2025.

Final Outlook

The evolution of Parallel TCG from an external base to a fully internal structure has been a complex but necessary process to build a more robust and scalable experience. Although some areas are still under development, the progress in matchmaking, stability, expansions, mobile experience, and interface sets the game on a clear path toward maturity.
