Riot Games has announced a series of free rewards for Teamfight Tactics (TFT) players, including 500 Treasure Tokens, a random Mythic Chibi, and additional compensation for those who own special cosmetics. The decision comes after the developer acknowledged technical issues during the game's transition to Unreal Engine. However, the rewards will not be available immediately: the missions will begin with update 19.1, scheduled for December 1, 2026.

Teamfight Tactics, Riot Games' popular strategy game, has just taken an important step toward becoming independent from League of Legends. With the release of version 18.6 on November 4, 2026, the game launched its own dedicated PC client, moving away from its traditional integration within the LoL client.
Although this transition represents a major improvement for the game's future, Riot has also acknowledged the difficulties some players have experienced over the past few months. As a thank-you for their patience, the company announced free missions and special compensation rewards that will arrive alongside the next set.
According to the official Riot Games announcement, all players will be able to earn two main rewards by completing specific missions during Set 19.
The rewards are as follows:

Regarding the Mythic Chibi, Riot explained that players will not directly receive a randomly selected character. Instead, they will receive a redemption token that can be used on a special banner featuring only Mythic Chibis.
This banner will not include Unbound Tacticians or Mythic Little Legends, meaning the reward will be limited to the Mythic Chibis available in that selection. The image above is for illustrative purposes and does not represent a guaranteed character.
Most importantly, these two missions will be available to all players, without requiring them to have previously purchased premium cosmetics. However, they must be completed once the new set begins.
In addition to the general missions, Riot announced extra rewards for players who already own certain high-rarity cosmetic items.
These compensation rewards are being offered because some previously purchased cosmetics were temporarily unavailable during the Enchanted Lands set while they were being converted to the new game engine.

The announced compensation rewards are:
Unlike the rewards earned by playing matches, these compensation items will be granted automatically upon logging in after version 19.1 launches, provided the account meets the established requirements.
There is one important detail: eligible cosmetics must have been owned by the account before version 18.7, scheduled for November 11, 2026. Therefore, this is not compensation that any player can obtain simply by purchasing an item after that update.
The decision is related to the problems TFT experienced during its technological transition.
With the launch of Set 18, Enchanted Lands, Riot began using Unreal Engine as part of an overhaul designed to improve the game's performance and support its long-term development.

However, the transition was not without difficulties. The community reported performance problems, visual bugs, gameplay issues, and difficulties using certain cosmetics that had not yet been adapted to the new engine.
Riot publicly acknowledged that the initial experience did not meet expectations and launched an initiative called Follow the Fix, designed to keep players informed about the fixes and improvements being implemented.
For this reason, the new missions serve two purposes: to thank players for their patience during the transition to Unreal Engine and to celebrate the arrival of Set 19.
The additional compensation rewards, meanwhile, are intended for players affected by the temporary unavailability of certain premium cosmetic items.
Although the announcement was made in early November, the rewards are not available yet. Riot decided to introduce them alongside the launch of Set 19 with version 19.1.
According to the official update schedule, these are the important dates:
| Date | Update | What's New |
|---|---|---|
| November 4, 2026 | Version 18.6 | Launch of TFT's new standalone client |
| November 11, 2026 | Version 18.7 | Additional client improvements and the eligibility cutoff for compensation rewards |
| December 1, 2026 | Version 19.1 | Expected launch of Set 19 and the appreciation missions |
It is important to remember that playing one or twenty matches during November will not allow players to complete these missions early. The requirements specifically apply to Set 19 matches, and the new set has not launched yet.
Dates are subject to change by Riot Games, so players are advised to check the official Teamfight Tactics patch schedule before launch.
In addition to preparing future rewards, update 18.6 introduces changes that already affect how the game works.
The biggest addition is the standalone PC client, designed to allow Teamfight Tactics to develop its own features without depending entirely on the League of Legends interface.

Riot aims to introduce tools and experiences better suited to TFT, including improved lobbies, events integrated into the client, and previews of Tacticians and arenas.
Version 18.6 also includes several fixes and improvements:
The 73 returning cosmetic items are not free rewards: they are existing content being reintroduced after the conversion process.
In terms of balance, champions such as Nidalee, Malphite, Kobuko, and Rek'Sai received buffs, while the Elderwood (9) trait had its bonus health reduced.
These adjustments aim to balance compositions in the current set while Riot continues preparing the upcoming release.
One of the major additions arriving alongside the rewards will be Set 19, whose theme will revolve around music and bands from the League of Legends universe.

Riot Games has teased a new experience called the Tour Collection, which will allow players to decorate a personalized room with memorabilia from their favorite bands.
This feature will include more than 70 customization options and will serve as a way to showcase the progress earned throughout the new set.
A new mechanic for the True Damage trait has also been confirmed, allowing players to switch between two playstyles: one focused on taking advantage of winning streaks and another designed to benefit from consecutive losses.
For now, Riot has yet to reveal all the champions, traits, and mechanics that will be part of this new chapter.
With its standalone client, the return of cosmetics, and upcoming appreciation missions, Riot Games is working to improve the Teamfight Tactics experience following a difficult technological transition.
The announcement of free rewards represents an opportunity for both regular players and those interested in returning to the game during the next set.

However, the distinction between the updates must remain clear: the new client arrived on November 4, but the 500 Treasure Tokens and random Mythic Chibi will become obtainable with version 19.1, scheduled for December 1, 2026.
Meanwhile, players who already own Mythic or Prestige cosmetics should keep the version 18.7 cutoff date in mind to determine whether they qualify for the additional compensation rewards.
You can find all the details in the official Riot Games announcement and the version 18.6 patch notes.
