Makubo Island Fishing Tournament in Paradise: Quick Start Guide

Makubo Island is the first expansion of the Paradise Tycoon world, introducing new areas to explore, missions, and resources. Along with its arrival, a new fishing tournament has started, rewarding players who made it to Makubo. This is an open event for all players, regardless of experience.

How to join the tournament?

• Simply start fishing from any of the island's shorelines.
• No level or prior experience is required.
• Fish caught on Makubo Island provide better scores.
• Each player has 15 fishing attempts per day.
• The total score depends on the combined weight of all fish caught during the tournament.

Important: To reach Makubo Island, using a boat is mandatory. Swimming through deep waters is risky, as sharks can devour you.

Tournament Dates

• Start: April 15
• Ends: April 29
• Duration: 15 days

New to fishing in Paradise?

No problem. In this world of magnates and adventurers, fishing is a popular hobby. Participating is simple by following a few basic steps.

What do you need?

• A fishing rod
• Bait (worms), which can be found next to the crop area on the island

How to fish?

1. Approach the shore with the rod equipped.
2. Press the F key to activate it.
3. Once a fish bites, a "pulse" mechanic is triggered.
   
4. Use your mouse or finger (on mobile) to pull the fish by clicking on the wheel that appears.
5. If the fish turns red, stop pulling and wait for it to calm down.
6. When it calms down, keep pulling until the bottom progress bar fills up.

Tip: If you pull while the fish is red, the side bar will fill quickly, and the line will snap.

What can you do with the fish?

• They can be used in cooking recipes.
• They can also be sold on the market in exchange for the "moani" token, the main currency in Paradyse.

Recommended upgrades and strategies

• Upgrading your fishing rod increases the chance to catch a legendary fish, which is more valuable in the market.
  
• In the cooking station, at level 2, you can find the recipe for mushroom soup, which grants fishing luck for 6 minutes.
  • This boosts the chance of catching heavier fish and improving your score.
  • One soup is enough to cover all 15 daily attempts.

• Click the calendar next to the minimap.
• There you can view your tournament position, current score, and potential rewards.
• You can also check previous and ongoing events.
