The plot of the game is set in a post-apocalyptic future. In the year 2038, a huge asteroid collided with the Moon, causing the event known as Earthfall. This event left Earth covered by a ring of meteorites, creating a dangerous area known as the "Sacrifice Zone". In this context, players take on the role of Operators of a Mercenary Extraction Force (MEF) who compete to extract a valuable mineral called Sigma.
