Data miners, including the popular account SkinSpotlights, found crucial information on the PBE test server. The ranked voice chat appears within the files of patch 16.5 of League of Legends.

Currently, the game only allows you to talk to your premade group. However, this new update will allow all five players on a team to communicate in real-time, without relying on external applications.

How will voice chat work in League of Legends?

Riot Games knows that toxicity is a constant concern. Therefore, the ranked voice chat system will include several moderation and personal control tools:

• Manual activation: The chat will be disabled by default (opt-in), so you decide if you want to join the conversation.
• Individual control: You will be able to adjust the volume of each player or mute them completely with a single click.
• Dynamic channels: There will be the option to quickly switch between your private group channel and the entire team's channel.
• Reporting system: A specific button has been discovered to report "Voice communication abuse".

The impact of voice chat on League of Legends rankeds
