Learn to Create Your MetaMask Wallet from Scratch: Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners

Step 1: Go to the official MetaMask website

Go to metamask.io and click "Download".

This will redirect you to the Chrome Web Store, where you will install the extension.

Step 2: Install the extension

Once on the page, you will see the MetaMask extension. Make sure you are downloading the correct one by verifying the site URL.

When you confirm you are in the right place, click "Add" (the label may vary depending on your browser: Chrome, Brave, or Firefox). You will see the download progress in the top-right corner of your browser. Once complete, the wallet will open automatically. If you closed the page, you can access it from your browser's extensions section.

Step 3: Start setup

Open MetaMask and click "Get Started", followed by "Create a new wallet".

There are three account creation methods. In this case, we will use the option to create a recovery phrase.

Step 4: Create password

Enter a secure password (minimum 8 characters) and confirm it. Check the box indicating you understand that MetaMask cannot recover your password. Finally, click "Create" to continue.

Step 5: Save recovery phrase

Click "Reveal secret words" and write them down on paper. Make sure to write them correctly, as these words are essential to recover your wallet.

Step 6: Confirm recovery phrase

Select the words in the correct order to verify you have written them down.

Step 7: Send anonymous data (optional)

Choose whether you want to help improve MetaMask by sending anonymous data to enhance performance, security, and user experience. You can disable this option if you are not interested.

Important to note:

• The collected data is not associated with your personal identity or wallet address.
• No recovery phrase, private keys, or passwords are sent or stored.
• You can disable this feature at any time from Settings > Privacy.

Step 8: Done! Access your wallet

You have completed the wallet creation process.

You can now view your balance and public address (0x...).
